Hi Pinthusiasts, it's just a few strokes past midnight now and it's April 1st, 2022 in the Pacific Time Zone. No Foolin !!!, I'm coming out of the shadows now, here is my first table release, It's "Scooby Doo, 2022". A lot has changed since 1969, but Shaggy, Scooby and the rest of the Gang need your help to capture 8 monsters & ghosts and to solve this mystery.

This table is a VPX retrofit, retheme and remaster of the much older VP9 Scooby Doo. The audio track has been entirely re-mastered and the table is running nicely on the VPX platform with better code and a streamlined game play.

I wish to extend a special thanks to JP Salas, for giving me permission to mod his table (Wrath of Olympus). Scooby Doo sits entirely on top of his January 2022 release of Wrath of Olympus and I did not delete a single line of his WOOLY code. So, if you know the rules to that table, then you have a good head start. In addition I want to personally thank JP for coaching me on some of the finer points of table design and the special touches he added to my revamp (such as the parrot, the barrels, lighting fixes, good advice and other things I did not have the skill to do when I started. My skills started at 0. Sorry I do not have the skill yet to make a backglass for the table.

I have additional mods on the way and I'll address bugs and issues in the release thread if you post there.

Other thanks to T-800, Arngrim and Masalaja & VP community in general. Enjoy the Mystery, mrjcrane.

Mr J - not sure if you'll see this, but hoping you might have some insight on an issue I'm having.  I can't get some of the sounds to move from table to backglass in the the sound manager.  For example, the intro song with the Vincent Price laugh.  Even if I say play through backglass, it plays through the table.  Haven't seen anyone else mention this, so may be an issue exclusive to me.  Really love the table, but the sounds going through are are my table speakers are making them go haywire.  I haven't run across this issue with any other table.  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi Folks, I'm not here much these days like I used to be will see if I can address a few issues with Scooby: I compiled and released is somewhere back in VPX v10.7 32 bit (for whatever version was current on April 1, 2022).

1) from previous above ... issues with "bass.dll or bass64.dll"  typically a new version comes with each consecutive release of VPX. I'm on 10.8.0 beta 64 bit and Scooby runs for me without issue, and without errors

2) Someone else reported an issue with the intro song moving from the backglass into the play field. I did double check the placement of the sound "sd_mu_song_tv_mystinc" intro according to the sound library. Placement as a backlass sound does look correct. On the intro sound feel free to reduce the volume of the Vincent Price intro sound, even I think it is too loud. I did however use the .ogg file format with most of my audio samples instead of the .wav file format in order to save space in the game. I shaved off about 300 megs of audio for the table size, making the overall table size to less than 100 megs.

3) Like LionsFan above, I would make the general recommendation to upgrade to the Latest 64bit VPX because I have started to code again for version 2.0.0 of Scooby so please get current on VPX if you are able. Follow the 64 bit install video  and the optional 10.8 beta install video

4) Also, I do like the idea of you saving the table down again once you get past the errors.

5) If you do get errors and want to report them here in VPF please let me know which version of the VPX you are running as you get the errors.

Do feel free to reach out to me if you need too, but I'm NOT super fast in my reply.

I had this happen on my system. If I ran VPX 10.7 32 bit it gave those errors.  About 8 of them.  On VPX 64 bit it did not give any errors.  Not sure why.   On the VPX 32 bit if you click past all the errors and then open the table it runs. I saved it at that point and I no longer get the error messages when running the VPX 32 bit version.

Does any one have a clue why that fixed the issue ?

hi ,

When i first launch the file i have this kind of issue .

what must i do to solve it ??

Bass music/sound library cannot create stream

C:\scooby\soundManager\scooby2022......

Hi Boris, if you are still having issues with the DMD, reach out to me again after upgrading to 64 Bit VPX. Part of that install gives you a fresh version of the DMD software.

I love it. I have a problem. Just reinstalled Visual Pinball and  the DMD is not showen.

How can I fix it?

Thanks Mr J.  I finally figured out the sound issue on my cab is due to the .ogg format.  Something about my setup doesn't like that format.  I had the same issue with Spongebob.  I converted those .ogg files to .wav and eveything worked as expected.
