Download Cue Ball Wizard (Gottlieb 1992) 0.7
20 Votes
Here is my heavy Mod of Cueball Wizard.
For me it is still a WIP, so I'll keep up working on it, but at the moment I'm a bit tired of it and thought, it's in a good shape to release as v0.7. I have a thousand more ideas. maybe later.
See changelog for details, what I did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Change LUT (=lighting) with left and right Magna Save keys. Results are saved.
Change look of upper acrylic playfield in script options (glass like, worn out, grunge)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Credits:
I started with Bigus' version.
Table history:
JPSalas (VP9 version) -> Rascal (conversion to VPX) -> Bigus (BigusMod) -> My version
So all credits go to these guys.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Big thanks go to:
- @Schreibi34 for his awsome insert images
https://vpinball.com...-insert-images/
- and most for creating all 8-Ball unit primitives for this table
it was a great pleasure to work with you, mate!
- @kds70 for some great help with scripting
Thanks a lot my friend!
- @jipeji16 for letting me steal his code for LUT changing and saving. All LUTs used are from me, but you better look at the code, where he stole from (with permission.. at least he calimed so
)
- @Thalamus for checking and updating the script for SSF
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hope you enjoy!

What's New in Version 0.7 (See full changelog)
- 0.7 (initial release):
- Playfield:
- - Inserts in PF replaced with recources from Schreibi (with modifications)
- - Text over inserts complete redraw
- - went back to Rascal's pf image, enlarged to 4k by AI and did the above again
- - shadows for playfield
- Lighting:
- - Lighting completely reworked
- - upper white flashers reworked
- - Horse shoe white light completely reworked
- - dynamic WBall shadow from Horse shoe white light added
- Black and White Ball:
- - higher mass for white cueball and black ball for more realism
- - 8 Decal on black ball
- - CBall white image modded
- - WBall: slowed down, when touching the V-shaped metal
- Primitives:
- - primitives for the whole cueball shooter unit (Schreibi)
- - Schreibi's textures modded to worn out and grunge (option in the script)
- - bumper caps texture hand drawn from scratch (Photoshop) for more real transparency.
- Other:
- - Metal Ramp Sound now stops when needed to be stopped on the left
- - Integrated a LUT script with saving (stolen with permission from JPJ: LUTs are from me. In the script you find, where he had stolen from ;) )
- - added Sound for motor (stolen and modified from the ACDC Table)
- - Replaced whole screw primitives with screw caps only; for a better performance (as Schreibi suggested).
- - rotated upper left and right balls like in the real table
- and many many things not worth to mention (or I don't remember).
Much better than the other version.
I must ask though - any way in the script to tone down the lighting intensity? I can't read them when they're lit up.
Anyone know what the "test" button is for this game? I would like to adjust the audio volume, but can't seem to figure out what the
test button is to access the features.
Great job but bad lighting means the Bigus version is still the only choice. Specifically the center and bottom lights create intense glare which is irritating.

First of all i MUST CONGRATULATE you man for such a work you did on this one. It`s my favorite one. So, many thanks man, I`ll download it again both ROM and table file, to see if it fixed. I don`t have any idea why when I installed VPX 10.7, suddenly it didn`t run the table. It just wont start, does not show any kinda error.
