Here is my first VPX Release.
Attack from Mars / 1995 Bally
This Version features the Desktop Version and also the Fullscreen/Cab Version.
Features:
1. Builded with a real AFM Machine next to me
2. Mechanical sounds recorded from the AFM Machine
3. Authentic Physics allowing most kinds of tricks you can perform on a real machine.
4. Aliens based on JP´s Release with modification on the arms so they shake.
5. Working "Dirty Pool"
6. DOF/B2S Support added by Arngrim
7. Real Mainsaucer behavior based on the script by JP with some finetune in movement
8. All Primitives with exept of the standard objects and the aliens are modeled by me.
Credits:
Thanks to JP for helping me to find solutions for the "Dirty Pool" and other Scripting Problems!!
Thanks to Arngrim for adding the DOF/B2S Feature to the table!!
Thanks to Martin for his AFM Machine I used to build up this table!!
And of course a special thanks to you all for positive feedback and support!!
Important!
The viewing angels I choosed are the one that I prefer to play with. I guess many or most users prefer other settings.
Since VPX this is no longer a problem. Just select "Table - Camera /Light Mode" in the editor and you can easily make
a camera setup to your liking in seconds. Same deal with the lightning. If you want to change the lightning of the table
just use the Lightningslider in the playfield menu.
If you play on a cab and want to remove the metalrails, just open script editor and in the "Table Components" Dropdown
select the very first entry "1. Rails" and delete it.
Modding this table is allowed after 3 Month and with approval from me.
Have fun with another Attack from Mars release

When I hit start, it keeps trying to locate the balls, but never starts.
First up. Thank you so much, brilliant table, my favourite version so far. Thanks for all the hard work on this one., and if any Devs are reading - VPX - Bloody amazing! keep up the good work!
For info., my Cab (Full screen) settings in case they help anyone. Would welcome feedback if anyone thinks these have messed up any fundamental elements - have chosen the option to remove the side rails also.
Inclination - 12
Field of View - 20
Layback - 80
XY Rot - 270
X scale - 1.085
Y scale - 1.41
Z scale - 1
X offset - -20
Y offset 4
Z offset 84
Is only the X offset value negative or what?
It is unclear how you wrote them. The last 2 values you didn't write a "-".
Most impressive texture and lighting I've seen. It just looks so real! Thanks!
Please consider doing another table? Although this one's pretty much a life-time achievement. Bravo!
Anyone got any tips and tricks to keep the ball in the playfield?
Cant get any further then second attack wave for saucer.
The ball either falls down to the sides quickly or just goes right through the middle... nudges aint helping either... only table bunches and the ball just stays in place.
Edit: Cause of this i cant enjoy this to play :'(
In vp9 or 8 the nudgeing made the ball actually move to somewhere else.
looks great but seems to be missing the 3 center targets for me
Hi there,
i habe a problem with the sound. The ROM value is up to max but i can only hear the default table samples. The same problem i have with Circus Voltair
(
My System
Windows 7
Core2Duo
GTX560OC
Soundblaster Fi-x
other Tables works seemless. Anyone have a idea?
edit:
i have found this in other post, i will try this first
Something happens to the table sound after about 4 seconds after loading the game. After that it just disappears. Still get ball and flipper sounds but no music or voice after that. Using VPX 10.5.0. I have the game sounds maxed out using both the + key and the 9 key in the maintenance menus. I've got a dozen other VPX tables working correctly, including JP's AFM but can't seem to get this one working. Any help would be appreciated.
* SOLVED *
Lowered the sound down to 0 exited the game then raised it see this post -> HERE
looks great but seems to be missing the 3 center targets for me
I have this same issue. Wherever the ball hits that spot, nothing happens as if there is an invisible wall there. Therefore no chance to hit the saucer. Any idea?

Really great version of AFM : classic look without excessive mods (i'm not against such things if somebody love "experiments", but i think it's more important to have "history accurate" version first).
i only adjusted flippers return strength to 0.045 so they now 'tremble' less and feel like a "new".
