Check this out... smallest one yet?

http://forum.arcadec...p?topic=83366.0

Unfortunately this kind of size doesn't allow the Atari 5-button system implemented (Gravitar, Asteroids, Space Duel, etc.)...looks like there are Visual Pinball buttons though...

Now how about this.... this is really hardcore.... even has the original-like Star Wars yoke.

When I grow up, I want to be like this guy... amazing...!! Worship.gif

Attached is a image of a old UN Squad. arcade i converted in to a mame cabinet for a friend, and the other is the crappy wiring job I did in my 4 Player control panel I use when I have retro game parties at my place. The TMNT Control Panel is from a project I did years ago and I kept the old panel as I didn't want to destroy it when converting it into a 2 player 7 button panel

I find that using old network cable works wonders for the controls and I have yet to have any issues by using it. Best thing about it is that I get it free from work (at least I did before I quite).

I need to do EXACTLY the same thing, build a mini-Defender cab... except I also need PacMan/MsPac and a Donkey Kong for my GF.

That would be pretty cool as you would have a horizontal mini mame cab for the horizontal classics an a vertical mini mame cab for the vertical mame classics.

Here you go Todd some artwork for a mini-Williams multicade...

Here are some pics of my newest joystick. It's fully designed and hand crafted by me.
Both of the joysticks are rotary , this means you can play Ikari , Time Soldiers.....
The rotary system is fully home made , and surprisingly works 100% fine !

At the moment I'm only connecting to the TV , as a full sized machine wouldn't fit in my flat.
I'm planning to implement this as part of a full sized machine in the future.

The wiring is still a bit sloppy , but it isn't finished yet , still doing the front buttons lighting.

The two wires on the side of the trackball are spare ones ( for updating to RGB ball in the future )

On the link below the pictures you can see more pics

http://i917.photobuc...er/DSCN1509.jpg
Please correct my English if it is necessary.

Any funny words or sentences you can teach me are welcome too !!!

This way I'll learn about pinball but English as well.

Amazing cabinets...!!

@SteveOz: So cool.... I love Stargate & Defender. I wonder if I could order a Gravitar-themed mini cabinet from Europe... I'm absolutely hopeless when it comes to building anything.

PS: I have a weird problem with most arcades... I'm a "right handed" player and most of the mini cabinets have the joystick placed on the left, and the buttons on the right... I can't play those. Same thing with my XBox controller... I gave the whole damn thing to my friend's son because I couldn't play it.... the controls were "upside down" for me. Old Atari arcade cabinets like Xevious and Dig Dug had buttons on both sides.

I have the X-Arcade controller (2 sticks) so I can play it both ways.

But then again...if you have enough money and enough room, this would be even better.

Great rig moogster! Gives me some good ideas for mine and what a space saving design I might add.

How do you play 4:3 mame games? do you rotate the main screen, play them up on top, or play on the bottom of the main screen, or what?

MAME UI has the monitor number/rotation settings so that you can choose which display to put it on and what rotation to display it. I think MAME UI also has "cocktail" mode for games/roms that support it.

I only wish I could figure out the command line setting for DAPHNE to make the laser disc games appear on monitor number two. Everything I've found on the 'net' is all how to switch to openGL mode so that you can rotate the display, but nothing for putting it on a second monitor.

I like to play the 4:3 games in cocktail mode. I could just play them with the picture in the middle of the screen, but I like cocktail mode to bring the screen down closer to the controls. It's a little easier to see the screen as well. Plus it looks pretty cool with a backwards image of the action up on top.

One of the coolest things about this setup is vertical games like shmups, Galaga, Centipede, etc. Especially shmups, they rock on my rig.

Thanks for the comments guys. I am actually taking a little break from pinball right now and playing my Mame games. It had been awhile since I had played them, I forgot how many games I had! Gotta love Mame!

This setup is made from plain PVC pipe, all the things to make this you can get from your local home improvement store. The cost of the pipe is very cheap, and it's easy to work with. If you need some tips KM, just let me know and I'll try to help.

Daphne Emulator - all command line options

I'm glad I found this before the office "Chrismukkahwanza" Holiday party.

Best Regards,

p.s. - nothing there to put Daphne games on the second screen though! mad.gif

Can you post your "bill-of-materials" so we know how many elbows, T-joints and how much straight pipe is needed? What size monitors did you use? Thanks! biggrin.gif
