Any one thought of doing a recreation of the infamous "Pinball Circus". not sure if or how it could be done but it would be rad to say the least.

It was already started. I think it was wtiger, who offered the first concepts. Problem: Roms aren't available!

I figured that was the problem, but was thinking about the em games that run without the roms, could the basic scoring and rules be emulated in a table that was created to run like a em recreation? I guess the sounds would need to be sampled....

That would be even worse to make. How do you record the samples from a table that only exists two times in the entire world? Also emulating past-90's tables in VP only doesn't work too good and is hard as heck.

There's got to be someone who works at the pinball hall of fame that has access and can extract the rom info?

No can do. Val already went there and he wasn't permitted to get the info. They just won't let us in that machine's insides.

Who? If you know how to contact them... and if they actually stored that data after the disbanding of their company... I honestly think that the only place we could get the ROM would be from 1) The PHOF, 2) Middle of Nowhere, Germany (unknown location).

I've already asked Tim Arnold in person when I was in Vegas last November. Before Steve Kordek would loan his personal Pinball Circus, Tim explained that he had to sign an agreement that included that he would not allow the ROMs to be dumped. I was not about to consider asking Tim to break his word, so I didn't press him about it. If you feel that you might more more successful than I was; you're welcome to ask either Tim Arnold, Steve Kordek, the owner of the other one in Germany after tracking him down, or members of the programming team; Scott Slomiany, Eugene Geer, Dan Forden and Dan Lee. Keep us updated on your progress of you contacting people to get the ROMs dumped... wink.gif

gawd! is that thing an actual pin? looks like those gumball ramp monstrosities that i see at the local walmart! That is definitely different, it goes straight up! good luck with even building something with a glass height of what about 1000 in VP?

The owner in Germany said he would allow the roms to be read if Wayne Gillard (The Pinball Factory) were to specifically ask him for a copy - and Wayne hasn't asked. I asked Wayne to ask, but well, now we're getting into wishing on stars/pulling hairs, threading needles, you get the picture.

Here's the latest version of the VP table I did. If anyone wants to add to/modify, change, etc, go ahead. Permission granted. I doubt I will do much more in the near future as I was just playing around with the concept. I actually think it is a fun game in real life (played it a couple years ago in Vegas).

It's been 5 years since this topic has been updated, i just recently saw this thing ....And i think it's awesome!

Maybe people can get the roms now somehow? I mean Steve is no longer with us ... So i guess there is no longer an agreement with him.

If Tim at the PHOF has an agreement with a particular individual and not WIlliams itself concerning the Pinball Circus, I would be wondering if the contract would be null and void with that individual's death. It would depend on the wording of the contract I suppose.

It was a promise that Tim did to Steve, as i understand there where no contracts between any person or companies,
