I'm only interested in the versions listed in the poll.

Thank You!

There may not be a poll, but I can tell you that VP9 looks to be too much of a headache in its current state and compatibility. I think I'll be sticking with 8.

I have too many installed!
A better poll would be how many different versions do you actually use?

anyway 23 revisions-
Visual Pinball TB4
vp6 full install, xp service pack 2 test, modified1, modified2
vp7 alpha 3, 4, 5, xpfix3, xpfix4, xpfix5, nonexpire 10-17-2005
vp 8.1
vp Ultracade betas 1-4 + beta 9, final, final update
vp 9.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.2

I mainly use vp6, vp8.1, and vp 9.0.2 or the Ultracade final version.

Build a fire, vipers love the heat.

I use 9.0.1 exclusivly

16:9 For The Win!....Physics are amazing lusty.gif

A few of the issues are well worth living with to have this top down view rotated view coupled with the pibnball wizard controller. It's what bought me back from FP to VP.....

Lots of fun! The closest real pinball experience yet!

I have 8.1 & 9.01 installed but only use 8.1.
until I find a way for xpadder to play nice with 9.01, I will be sticking with 8.1

Bob, I fixed the poll. I'm not sure what you wanted in the selection choices, but this way you can edit and see how the polls are done using IPB software. They are a little different than what I was used to, too.

until I really learn the coding I'm sticking with vp8! And I am thrilled others are too, that means my pins may actually get played!

Thanks Noah, I think I figured it out. I am only interested to know about VP8 and VP9 and both VP8 & VP9.

Thanks, I fixed that..... I couldn't get the poll to work at first and everytime I submitted it, it lost my choices, so after 3 or 4 times I guess I lost my head. think.gif

Both 8 and 9. 9 has been fun to play with, regardless of the lack of tables at the moment.

actually WH, I am just now really getting into coding in vp8, but there are many new tables that are being done/converted in vp9 so I am forced (arm being twisted behind my back) to d/load vp9 as soon as my demo d/load of Photoshop is done! It is a 1 gig d/load! (see i need ONE thing done to a wip and I need Photoshop for that and Adobe offers a 1 month free trial so...) i saw that 'Play on a sheet of glass' table but of course it's in vp9 so I will d/load vp9 and try to see if I can get a feel for that coding too, since i am new at coding, (I think ) it may be easier to learn both rather than to unlearn one to relearn the second. Mebbe I'm wrong and I'll just drive myself insane, but, if it's too tough, I'll just put it on the back burner for awhile but I can still play all these new(er) tables being coded in vp9 so I don't feel left out!

Hey - no sweat man! I was just joking you tongue3.gif
I'm sure you can actually code quite well now otvclap.gif

Seriously though, I don't think as far as coding goes you've any real worries about needing to use 8 or 9...for pretty much everything you want to do in the code it'll be very similar...just comment anything you think might change, so that you can easily find it in future when you want to change it.

VP 6.1 and VP 9.02

I REALLY wish they didn't share the same registry entries!
