File Name: Foundation Saga

File Submitter: anthias

File Submitted: 30 Apr 2010

File Category: FP Originals

Author(s): Anthias
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

number 4 in my classic Science Fiction EM series for FP

FROM THE WIP THREAD:
This next table will be themed around Isaac Asimov's classic series - Foundation Saga, which commenced with the release of Foundation in 1951, and continued until the release for Forward the Foundation concluded the epic story in 1993.

So - this table represents that entire epic series of books, and as such encompasses a time in SciFi history from the fifties to the nineties. The pinball table therefore will do the same. In a sort of steam punk fashion, you can expect elements of modern pinball to appear in this EM table, reflecting the metamorphosis of pinball over four decades.

I hope to create a truly special pinball experience for Fans of Asimov, and of pinball alike.

RULES:
Lite Mis bank for bumper x 3
lite Hari bank for loop/channel x 3
Light the three leaf targets for table x incriment
light the inout lanes for ball save
light all the various lanes for bonus times
lite VAULT to light the kicker (left mid field)
shoot the LIT kicker for two ball multi
hit bumpers and slings to light Trantor, for 1 minute of 10X score on kickers and spinners
light the SELDON targets (platform) to light CRISIS target. Hit that for SELDON CRISIS (5 ball multi - you'll know it by the lights flashing)
light DORS for 60 seconds of all targets x 10

Allways the damn way. I found a couple bugs, only 2 had downloaded, reuploading now. I will comment on the file when updated, so if no comment when you download, you'll need to update.

DORS mode and the loop x shot on the right hand side were both broken. (the triggers were not firing at all because somehow there were two subs for the hit events - with different bits in each. had to do a quick edit to fix)

EDIT: fixed version uploaded. The trigger in the looping lane on the right has a looping bonus that doubles each time it is hit in the duration of the ball, starting at 100 - I considered putting a timer on it while fixing it so it reset after 30 seconds or something but left it as is. Also the O in DORS now lights so you can actually trigger that mode as well. Allways the way - when you work with multiple table versions (was using a model test table copy in case my models broke the file) you sometimes forget to code changes on the right one... *facepalm*.

and BTW - huge thanks to Lvr for the model editor! its a fantastic tool

One other thing: anybody notice how the physics of the tables are so much different in arcade mode? feels like there is a magnet in the guts!

EDIT 2: ok guys, heres an interesting one. You know how sometimes, you get that magic moment, a combination of modes that is simply astounding point scoring potential? well, thanks to that loop multiplier, the seldon crisis mode, Trantor mode, the regular two ball multi, and DORS mode all firing at once, the score in the attached screenshot far eclipsed the counting abilities of the em reels. so I might suggest even in arcade render mode, you leave the hud up in case! not sure if there is much I can do about the situation unless I remove modes which I dont want to do.... maybe I will sleep on it.... suggestions? (the hud is toggle-able with the ~key)

Nice table, thanks! I like the models and holigram animations, and the 5 ball multiball is always fun (not sure how I got it?). Good layout.

It could use a ball in play counter.

try unchecking "load images into editor " when you run the table. On my old pc I had to do that to run tables with holigrams on them.

I spoke to dizzidi last night, she was having same issue, she unchecked that, still didn't work, she set display options to minimum, still no go, she set the options back to maximum and rechecked the box, and it worked ever since!
