Batman The Dark Knight

Version: 1.0.0
Category: Playfields

Author(s): Stern Crew., Re-Draw by Lord Hiryu 2009-2010

Description:
Stern's Batman TDK Playfield.
Bare playfield of Stern's Batman The Dark Knight, entirely re-draw by me.
I vectorized all things on the playfield, and have got a few "licenses", as a diferent Ray-traced bat-suit on the upper-left side of the playfield.

I hope that some day these Sterns tables will be emulated by pinmame.
BTW, maybe one talented guy...(y no quiero mirar a nadie JP), can be done similar as the Spiderman table by JPSalas....tongue.gif

Nicely done LH! We will all be watching and waiting for the table to be created!

Nice playfield!

I have thought about to make a Batman and a Family Guy for VP only. But that's a lot of months of daily work. And I'm not sure if I want to do that. Not just now anyway. smile.gif

Thats a shame those 2 would have been great!. How long did it take from start to finish for your spiderman table? Let us know if you go ever go ahead with the batman table, as i have a fair few audio clips form the 2 batman films that would be worked into the table, such as:

"Come on, I want you to do it, I want you to do it. Come on, hit me. *Hit me!*" (joker to batman)
"So why do they call him "The Joker"?" (bank robber)
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are tonight's entertainment!" (joker)
"A little fight in you. I like that" (Joker)
"Then you're going to love me" (batman)
"And... here… we... go!" (joker)
"Everyone knows you're Gotham's White Knight" (gordon)
"Wanna know how I got these scars?" (joker)
"This is too much power for one person" (Lucius Fox)
" It's simple. We, uh, kill the Batman" (joker)
"Ooohhh. You want to play. Come on!" (joker)
"Can't hurt your chances" (two face)
"You're a lucky man" (two face)
"Know your limits, Master Wayne" (Alfred)
"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" (harvey dent)
"I'm counting on it" (batman)
"Don't let me find you out here again" (batman)
"Enough from the clown!" (mobster)
"You think you can steal from us and just walk away?" (mobster)
"yeah" (joker)
"Buyer beware. I told you my compound would take you places. I never said they'd be places you wanted to go" (scarecrow)
"Never start with the head, the victim gets all fuzzy" (joker)
"We got you, you son of a bitch!" (gordon)
"How about a magic trick?" (joker)
"Ta-daa! It's... it's gone!" (joker)
"The Joker chose ME!" (two face)
"Do you have any idea who you're stealing from? You and your friends are dead! (bank manager)
"Maybe you want to read the instruction manual first." (Lucius Fox)
"I knew the risks when I took this job, Lieutenant" (Harvey Dent)
"Tryouts" (joker)
"Make it fast" (joker)
"Harvey" (Rachel Dawes)
"You live" (two face)
"Let's put a smile on that face!" (joker)
"That's more like it!" (scarecrow)
"Will you be wanting the Batpod, sir?" (alfred)
"Live to fight another day, Detective" (two face)
"You make your own luck" ( Rachel Dawes)

Maybe a few of them could be used in some table features???

I spent about a year working on the Spider-Man table, but I didn't worked on it the whole time, as you can see by the amount of tables I released in 2009 smile.gif But I guess that working on an original of that kind would take me from about 4 to 6 months, since I'll need to learn the rules first, the layout, then hunt for graphics and sounds. And if you want a DMD, then it may take longer again (but I guess we could hire highrise to make it smile.gif ) But this is going way off topic. So it is best not to write here anymore about this smile.gif

Hiryu you mentioned ray-tracing. Is that the video technology that is the works? I have seen an article describing such technology and how much resources it takes for a simple graphics routine.

I could have been smart, but I never learned anything by being smart!

Stern Batman came out in July 2008, so July 2013 would be five years! So just waiting for Stern to use new software on their new machines or are they already?

since the pin would be based ONLY on the Dark Knight film

I think that the sayings also should come only from that one movie

lest we forget who was the real star in that one (the late great Heath Ledger)

from having  audio clips from the first movie included

just my opinion but the Dark Knight is the best batman movie ever

and should not have any outside audio clips from anything else added to it

There's a pretty damn good mod of the Dark Knight table made by SLAMT1LT - the Joker edition. Uses exclusively clips (audio/video) of Heath Ledger :)

PD... ray tracing has been around for over twenty years or so

heck my old Atari 1040 St computer with 1 meg built in memory

had a few cad drawing programs that also did ray tracing

heck that computer even had programs that handled cad 3d and tweening

that is where I learned about Midi sounds and cad 3d apps

"3D computer graphics applications (like Cyber Studios CAD-3D, which author Tom Hudson would later develop into Autodesk 3D Studio[22][23]),

brought 3D modelling, sculpting, scripting, and most important, computer animation (using delta-compression) to the desktop.

Video-capture and -editing applications using special video-capture 'dongles' connected using the cartridge port

— low frame rate, mainly silent and monochrome, but progressing to sound and basic colour (in still frames) by the end of the machine's life.
