Hi all,

 

Done a full reinstall of everything and I'm just setting up Doflinx for all my Emu that i had running ok previously. Everything is up and running including DOF and Doflinx but I've got an issue with my mayflash F3 joystick that wasn't there before. Ive used all my old ini and everything loads up correctly and lights come on, but none of the key inputs on the mayflash are being triggered, basically i don't think Doflinx is seeing it.
I also have an xbox controller that i use for some games that it does see and they get triggered ok as before under player 1, for instance X1X does trigger a light for X key, however my old ini for the mayflash were player 2 X2X and worked ok, but now nothing.
Ive tried changing to player3 and 4 but nothing being triggered by the mayflash joystick.

Any pointers please.

If you run DOFLinx with DEBUG on (set DEBUG=2 in your DOFLinx.ini) then DOFlinx will list all the devices and numbers, including joysticks, that it finds at startup.  If the joystick is seen in Windows setup as a joystick, then DOFLinx will detect it since it simply "asks" Windows.  Have a look and post a log here if you want us to take a look.

Sorry for the late reply but did as you said and its looking like my mayflash F300 not being seen for some reason.

 

So i did 2 log files, 1 with just my Mayflash plugged in and it isn't being seen, see below.

This is with both mayflash and xbox wireless plugged in and it sees the xbox controller but again not the mayflash.

Never had this before but im on a new motherboard and fresh install. I do have an issue with my Zeb plunger also that i think might be related now. It only works after pressing a few buttons, like it is in sleep mode, the mayflash works straight away but im guessing they are related, however i cannot find any settings in windows to change this.

Weird.  DOFLinx will see it if Windows is seeing it.  So concentrate on getting it to appear reliably in Windows first.  Drivers, USB port plugged into, etc, etc.

It is weird because windows seeing the Mayflash correctly and install with no problems

Its not showing as a joystick under Windows.  I would say that is why.

Hmmmm, Mame sees it as a joystick the same as my xbox controller but i will try another USB port and failing that i will see if i can update firmware.

Managed to get to the bottom of it but not found a proper solution to the issue really.

 

Basically its looking like windows does not see the mayflash on start up properly and changes the order it sees it or something.

 

It works and everything is ok in device manager but does not get recognised in the Doflinx log and the mame controls get changed, telling me windows is causing this. The other xbox controller is ok and does not change.

However if quickly on boot up before Doflinx starts i switch the input switch on the mayflash from Xinput to Dinput and back again, in effect unplugging and plugging in again' Dofimx sees it and everything start working as it should.

 

Its not ideal and i have a work around i suppose but any ideas as to why windows is messing with it on start up.
