Well, it looks like we're getting too old and definitely need an update. I've been holding out simply because we'll lose a ton of cool features, but now, the captcha services protecting new registrations have gone defunct.

We're currently working on first implementing a new captcha code, so people can register. After that, it's time to move forward with upgrade!

Stay tuned!

Registrations are once again OPEN!

The move to upgrade has begun. The board will require some downtime, and I will try to keep you all up to date as much as possible.

VIPs still have access to the board during this process, so I will keep you informed as to when it's time to test. VIPs, please refrain from posting or uploading until we give you the green light. If the board looks different, that's when we're upgrading.

Thank you!

My browser crashed and wouldn't import my backup profile so I lost all of my logins. I tried requesting a new password, but the security codes aren't working so I had to create another account. My old username is 80srkadeguy Any chance you could email me a new password reset please?

That would be because Hotmail likes to block us, well, everyone really. I just can't win. LOL

Try checking junk and whitelisting our domain.

Their filter is WAY too aggressive. I suggest EVERYONE using this site to get a Gmail account.

Hoping for a Latest Accessories to replace the Website Poll on the Homepage so that tables aren't immediately replaced with wheels, making it look like the main thing on offer most of the time. Please :)

Could you PM a non-Hotmail/Live/Outlook email account, and I'll update it in your profile?

Noah (buddy),

I know I might seem kinda new here, but actually, I've been around for like 15 years (like v8 was current VP version, and I was turning one of my desktop monitors vertical to play).

Your website is just so perfect (just the way it is) ... I can

1. Get the latest Tables

2. Get the proper ROMs

3. Provide feedback to the authors about a particular table (reviews and problems)

4. Forum posts with other power-users about Visual-Pinball software-configs and the best directB2S files (for example)

5. Forum posts with other power users about cabinets, hardware (Pinscape), Windows, Front-Ends (Pinball-Y), etc.

The list goes on, but those are the main ones off the top of my head and I think you get the idea.

As long as IPBoard is still supported ... are you sure we have to change the forum's main-platform? If we lose the above (especially the perfect databases of digital files) I'm afraid things will be worse instead of better. Do you maybe just need a better Web-Host? Would it help if we sent you a little more money for Yearly Registered Access?

For example, I've had the go to VPuniverse for a few things. No offence to him (and I appreciate what he has done over there) but that website is something different.

I debated whether to post this public, but I think you should see that others might agree. I just don't know if you know how much we all appreciate what you have built here.

Noah,

Well, you did warn-us that the website was on its last-leg <smile>

While I'm pretty sure the SSL-Certificate thing was just an unfortunate coincidence ... I wanted to thank you for (apparently) getting it straightened-out in just a couple of days.

I just went to send a donation to support the site. I checked the 'Support VPF' link at the top of the page and it took me to a page with no options to send additional support.

You might want to consult with the folks at Pinball Nirvana.  They performed a massive upgrade and the site was down for several days.  You might ask them what they would do differently.

How are the robots creating accounts (before posting their spam-messages)?

I thought you needed a validated email address to activate your account and start-posting.

It shouldn't be too big of a deal for a bot to accomplish that. Having some email address is no problem and it can automate responding to the verification request, then start posting.

Especially nowadays with AI, all this is probably not difficult to take care of.

Are uploads disabled currently? Or simply not approved?
I've uploaded and updated a number of pinball logos in the Hyperpin Wheels section and they are all pending (i.e. not visible) for a while, same happened with some updated files back in December, they never came back to visible status.

I can't download any VPX stuff right now. At first it seemed to be just the ROMs, but now I can't access the VPX category at all.

same - suspect it is a site issue.  Guess we'll just need to play with what we got.
