Hi!

I have a one-way gate that I have set collidable off.  However, whenever the ball hits the gate from the direction that the gate blocks (i.e. not going in the one-way direction), the ball still collides with the gate.  I would have thought that turning off collidable would mean the ball would ignore the gate entirely.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Would opening the gate do what you want? Gate.Open = True

Spoke too soon.  It seems like once you set open to true, setting open to false, doesn't put the gate back into an active state, and it remains open.

Set the collidable state of the gate in the script.  Use either nameofgate.collidable = true or nameofgate.collidable = false as needed.

Yes, I set collidable and it the collision still happens even when set to false.  That was the problem I wrote about in my original post.

I remember that there was some gate trouble with one of the 10.8 betas. Update to the 10.8 final, or use the 10.7.

I recommend you to use the .Open command. Do not use the collidable with the gates, since it will look better to see the gate open or close.

Here you have a demo table. Press the left flipper key to open the gates, and release the left flipper key to close them again. Shoot the ball with the plunger.

The table was made with 10.8, but works just as good with 10.7
