Hey everybody,
I have a smaller cabinet about 3/4 size compared to full size (cab is roughly 19"w x 40"l x 19"h at back box). I have a pinone and want to add the smaller custom/build your own shaker motor as I think a full size one would be overkill and I also want a cheap option to see how I like a shaker. Something along the lines of this (https://vpuniverse.c...l-shaker-motor/) but with the Pinone rather than the kl25z board.
Anyone done anything like this that I could bounce a few questions off of?

I specialize in smaller cabinets. First, I need to emphasize that cabinet mass is more of a factor than size. So, if you are using 3/4" (19mm) thick plywood, cross members, full size subwoofer stuffed inside, along with a piece of 5mm thick glass, you are going to need a full size shaker. However, if you made your cabinet fairly light, a smaller 12V shaker should do the trick. Amazon has a couple choices:

On the lighter side they offer R370 motor for under $12. For a bit more power they also have a R555 motor at twice the price. You can find the same R555 motor on ebay for the price of the R370. If I recall PinOne requires a shaker motor speed controller, as they don't have a PWM option to control the speed (I could be wrong).
Securely mount the motor axially left to right towards the front of the cabinet.
Good luck.

I have a similar setup as you (3/4 cabinet with a Pinone control board). I added this shaker to my cabinet a few weeks ago and I'm pretty pleased with the results: https://www.amazon.c...hp_d_atf_rp_4_t
rickh is right the Pinone has a specific shaker motor output with a potentiometer to set the shaker max speed. I had to fiddle with it while playing Jurassic Park until I got it in a good place.
