Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1972
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Based on the Williams table from 1972.

Graphics and directb2s by Halen.

This table is very special, as it doesn't play with a limited number of balls, but it plays against time. You have a kind of clock in the middle of the table and when it reaches 0 and you drain the ball, then it is game over.
It is a 1 player table, so nothing resets between balls. The clock can be stopped and started by different events in the table, and you can also earn mode time. Take a look at this video for an explanation of the rules and some game play:

To me it is a very nice table, and quite different to the rest of EM tables.

The time, or the clock, was not a real time clock, and it was possible to be adjusted by the operator. I have added a variable, Difficulty, in the script where you can change the clock speed to easy, normal or hard. Normal is the default.
Also you can select how many "seconds" you get at the start of the table. The standard were 45 seconds, but could be changed also by the operator. In the above video it was set to 1 minute and 15 seconds. But remember they are not real seconds :)
When the clock is 0 and you drain the ball, then it is game over. Tilt penalize only the ball and you loose 15 seconds.

This machine was released in September 05, 1972, and one month later Williams made Summer Time, with higher scores and the possibility to earn credits. Travel Time was configured to award only more time, and I have configured the table like this too. But there is a variable at the start where you can change it to earn credits if you prefer. Only the higher scores can earn credits.

Anyway, watch the video to get a better idea of the table :)

Thank you for the nostalgia fix. 13-year-old me played this machine endlessly at a local retail shop. The same store had an old-fashioned (even for that time) lunch counter and soda fountain.

The time mechanics of this table are something everyone should try a few games. Quite a change of pace from 3 or 5 balls per game. Definitely an EM challenge.

Whoops! Too much english.

Haha, I know that feeling.
The YouTube link isn't working for me, can you paste the link as text as well? Maybe it's blocked somewhere.
Good job JP. Especially for someone who stopped making tables. :drinks:_

Just search on Youtube: Travel Time Pinball Machine, there aren't many videos, and one of them is the one with the rules explained.

I'll try to paste just the text:

I had to add " ", so don't copy/paste those " " :)

Edit: I guess I have never work as hard as this year updating my tables :) I have updated all my 236 VPX tables adding my latest physics, playfield mesh with holes, better lights, better flashers, and adjusting the reflections so they look nice in VPX8. My idea was to upload the tables when VPX8 is final, but I'll upload them in December. I won't be home in November, I'll be in Mallorca and the hotel WI-FI is not the best I have seen :) Anyway VPX8 RC4 is as good as final for me, at least for playing tables :)
