Why have a static image on your back glass monitor when you can have a back glass that's active and driven from table events?  This is us very happily using the great work of those who created and refined the directb2s system.

This thread is for updates on PinballFX active (B2S) back glasses.  The PinballFX back glasses were started as a copy of all FX3 B2S back glasses.  They will be added to for the additional tables and existing ones improved as and when time is available to work on them.  So, as time goes by, the FX set of B2S active back glasses will diverge away from the FX3 set.  If you pointed DOFLinx to the same set for FX3 and FX now might be the time to make a new folder and copy them ready them to diverge.  The new FX back glasses will not work actively with FX3 without more work on the table.FX3 file, and I don't plan to do that at this point in time.

New FX back glasses will often require a new table.FX file.  The DOFLinx installation ZIP package will include the latest full set of table.FX files always referring to the latest release of FX specific back glasses.

The first back glass to get a make over is Biolab thanks to @brewedenhell .  Its uploaded now and I've included the zipped up FX file on this post.   Brewedenhell is working on more at present so many more likely to come.

At present I am maintaining a full set for download here.  This is where new and updated x.directb2s files will be placed.  When you see a post here go and get the new one and perhaps periodically check for updates.

Thanks @brewedenhell . The new Xena back glass is there and ready to go, you will need V8.05 of DOFLinx to use this.  Also Attack from Mars got some fresh artwork, and to ensure this is running there is a new FX file for this table.

Are there debug flags that can be added to the DOFLinx.ini file that will allow all triggers to be logged, even if DOFLinx doesn't understand or use the trigger?

Yes.  However, we still have a few issues in that area being chased by myself and Zen.  Not ready for use by others just yet.

Thanks @brewedenhell for a great new Knight Rider setup (B2S and FX file), I particularly like the wording that comes up as you shoot loops and orbits.

I made the Grimm Tale backglass active and built a FX file for that table.  Its got one of the little things I like doing when there are images of flippers on the BG and that is to illuminate them while you have the flipper pressed and off when you release, its just a bit of fun.

Anyway, enjoy the two new backglasses.

I've attached a complete new set of FX files to this post as there were some errors on the flashers and MX stuff, they, and new ones will of course be included with each release.  Thanks to all who have worked with me to sort the flasher issue out.  If you have addressable LEDs download a new config from DOF config tool, you need a doflinx ROM update.

As always, have fun.

Another big thanks to @brewedenhell for the Pacific Rim active backglass which I've just uploaded.  The required FX file will be in the V8.06 release that I'm posting next.

Also just added Castle Storm that I noticed was missing from the collection.  Its still old art work, but we'll get to that later.

A few updated and new back glasses since my last update.  FXPLogo, Garfield, Trolls, Dragons, South Park Super Sweet, Bride of Pinbot, Noir, Curse Mummy, World War Z, Kong and Borderlands.

Some of these will require new FX files and the new version of DOFLinx.  Both will released in the next couple of days along with a bundle more FX files.  Our friends at Zen have come through with the latest upgrade and we've got a whole lot more table events now coming through as designed which allows a lot more to be done.

Hello, I have a question about what I'm doing wrong. I installed everything according to the instructions. DofLinx Toys work. Only the B2S don't want to. What have I forgotten? Do I have to rename the directb2s files to the table numbers?

No you do not rename to the table numbers, the .directb2s files stay with human readable names (you might notice they are identical to the .FX file names.

Do you have the B2S Server software installed and running?

Do you have PATH_B2S_SERVER= ...... to your location in your DOFLinx.INI ?

Do you have PATH_FX_B2S= .... the the location of your .directb2s files in DOFLinx.INI ?

You can run DOFLinx with DEBUG=1 and right click to "Test B2S", if you select "PinballFX" as the B2S Path and leave the rest you should be a backglass load and see the gunflash.

and is there a charliebrownchristmas.FX   file, i cannot seem to find it.

Not yet.  I'm still working through the Star Wars section ..... should get that finished today.

The StarTrekDeepSpaceNine .directb2s file has been upgraded from a static backglass to illuminated and active.

For some reason I can't upload a zip of the required FX file.  So if you want to use this backglass before the next release, just copy the details below into a file called StarTrekDeepSpaceNine.FX

Many thanks for the help. I had entered the wrong path to the B2S server.

Three more static backglasses upgraded to active and loaded.

Snoopy Peanuts

Star Trek Discovery

Star Trek Kelvin Timeline

All three FX files (plus the Deep Space Nine) file attached.  They will of course be in the next release.

A request - If you've got any good high resolution backglass artwork for the upcoming releases, Goat Simulator and Princess Bride, please let me know.  I want to start creating them ready for release.

A few more back glasses now have illumination linked to table events, so active!

Wrath of the Elder Gods

My Little Pony

Star Wars Classic Collectables

Sky Pirates

Kung Fu Panda

While not listed in order here, I'm now just trying to work through the tables in numeric order so that at least we have a FX file and active back glass for every table.  As always, anyone who wants to make a better active back glass, you are most welcome.

Attached are the FX files which will of course be included with the next DOFLinx release.

Six newly active back glasses to replace the static ones plus of course FX files.

Godzilla

Godzilla vs Kong

Crypt of the Necrodancer

Brothers in Arms

Verne's Mysterious Island

Samurais Vengence

Attached are the FX files which will also be in the next release.  I may pause now as I wait for Goat Simulator and Princess Bride later in the week.  These will require a new DOFLinx to link the game number .... standby.

New active back glasses uploaded and FX files attached.

Charlie Brown Christmas

Terraforming Mars

Exploding Kittens

Gloomhaven

This should now make a complete set of back glasses that are active as well as FX files to ensure bumpers, slings, flippers, etc are all running.

If you think any tables, back glasses, etc for FX remain not working, please let me know.
