I am in the process of deciding what lighting I want at the top of my playfield. I am on Cleveland software design site and see that they have a light bar as well as adressable LEDs. Is one better than the other in certain tables. Which would you choose? Is there a case for both?

This is not a question of this "or" that !

Best is a five-flasher-bar with RGB Leds under the backglass/speaker panel
AND
MX LED strips at left and right of playfield

I think it IS a question of one or the other, when talking about the top of the playfield ;)

The five-flasher bar might be the most authentic resembling a real, old school cabinet.

The LED Matrix give you the possibility of simulating flashers (that don't look authentic at all, but give you the flashes of real light at your peripheral vision while playing) but you also get the possibility of all kind of effects on tables that support it. And if you go with an HD panel these effects turn into full animation to enhance the experience even further.

I chose the matrix and love it.
