Hi all, done some research and not found anything sofar, hope someone can point me to a topic or has solved this.

After two too long years of no pinball (crashed my system with no backup, well serves me right), I finally got it up and running again! I love it!

I am now running a Win7 cabinet with several toys and a real DMD (Vishay), also the older pinDMD2 board, which I purchased a few years ago. Latter comes with its own old VpinMAME.dll, which it requires two actually display the game data. This is up and running. My problem is: This dll is so old, I can only run VP92 tables. VPX and also VPINMAME setup.exe will crash, after installing this VPinMAME.dll. If I install the VpinMAME.dll which comes with VpinMAME 2.5 VPX tables work (whitout my DMD though), but I will run into problems with VP92, least of which is that my pinDMD will stay blank.

Is there any version of VinMAME.dll out there, that will work for VP9 and VPX, while also allowing my pinDMD2 to display? Or do you recommend purchasing newer DMD (with integrated USB driver) from e.g. virtuapin.

Thanks,

Thomas

For clarification, this is the pindmd2 I mean:

Not sure if the older v2 will work with freezy, but, I would give it a go.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I also have the same pinDMD2 hardware, but mine is working fine with VPX 10.8 and VPinMame 3.6. The VPinMame.dll is the one that came with VPinMame 3.6 also. Note that this is a build with the 32 bit and 64 bit options.

I would recommend that you first start getting everything going with just VP and VPinMame first before trying any of the new stuff like Freezy, PinUp Player, etc. - I had a problem where installing Freezy (DMDExt) where my DMD would no longer work, and I had to revert the install to get it working again. I later found there was a setting in a file to get it to work for Freezy - I don't remember it right now, but I will look it up if you still have the problem with Freezy.

Okay, thank you, both!!

I will give Freezy a try and also play with VPinMame 3.6.

My older tables do run ok with VPinMame 3.5 though, so I guess I will start out with Freezy (which I understand, bjjb, you are using alongiside 3.6 correct?). New to Freezy/DMDEXT though.

Is this (https://www.vpforums...showtopic=44255) a good startingpoint, or are there some tutorial threads on that?

Update 15.03.: Think this is a good starting point: https://www.youtube....h?v=kEmdoYUK36w. Thanks to Alex for the video.

Also look here for link for Freezy documentation: https://www.vpforums...showtopic=44190

In the docu it actually says, that my board (pindmd v2) should be supported. So I'm optimistic
