Hi.

In you pinball setting, do you use the ball physics inside every table or you have one for all?

Which one do you prefer?

And, is it possible to have one for all the tables, easly?

Thanks

Its not possible to have one for all, unfortunately, especially for the more complex tables, as some authors have special script hacks, or built the table in some special ways that require some specific settings so that the table actually works as intended.

But for the 'simpler' ones, default settings may work fine.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "ball physics".  The physics that affect the ball is primarily a combination of the table physics, flipper physics, and material physics.  Table and flipper physics can be easily exported and imported.  Material physics depends on how the table was created.  If the author created the material physics in the material manager then applied that to the elements on the playfield then the materials can be exported and elements copied from table to table.  Not as simple or easy as table and flipper physics.

This is for 10.7.3.  Not sure if 10.8 has improved on this any.  I haven't had the time to learn the ins and outs of 10.8.  I am also still learning as I go.  Someone with more experience may have a better take on this.

Check out my website for any latest updates or information on current builds that I am working on.

The physics in 10.8 are the same as in 10.7, and as jino0372 said, the ball physics has to do with the elasticity and friction of all the elements of the table that are in contact with the ball, from the playfield itself, rubbers, metals, plastics, woods, targets... and also has todo with the strength of some objects like bumpers, slingshots and flippers. So it is much more than simply load or save a file :) I have written a little about physics in this post:

JP's VPX7 Physics - Resources - VPForums.org

And even if the name says VPX7 is also valid for VPX8, as the physics are the same.

Ok I made a mistake with the words.

My request was about Physics set; Import and export are available in the program, so I thouhgt maybe it was possible something as the POV:

rename autopov.pov and place it in your tables folder, it will override the POV settings for all tables.

No, as toxie said, it is not possible, as that would break the table. The import and export is very useful to setup quickly the flippers and the playfield properties, and then you may adjust them to fit the table.

I reccommend, to play with the Physic Settings which are coming with the Table, because e.g it is different to play an EM Table, and newer Tables.

I thought it started out with a SDK Newtonian physics and messing around with OLE and passing info back and forth.  I can't wait for the Unity VP (VPE) is done, or at least closer.  This will be huge I think (hope).   VPX is incredible on its own too though, thanks devs.
