Thanks for the table mod!

I'm assuming this table doesn't have a rom sound adjustment? When I press end, no opening door sound, pressing end again gives no closing sound. Pressing 8 or 9 offers no rom adjustment sound after pressing end or not pressing end on table start.

I have tried changing volume levels in three different places in the editor with no noticeable reduction in the electronic sounds volume. The flippers, poppers etc all react to lowering the volume and decrease and increase as they should, but the electronic sounds refuse to lower. I would like to lower them because they're playing far too loud and they sound like they're extremely low quality.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!

The END key only works for tables that have DMD's.

I always download an operator's manual from IPDB.org for the pre-DMD tables to figure out how to adjust volumes.

Thanks for the suggestion. The manual for this table is not available. Do you have another suggestion?

There are many tables that just had a volume knob inside of the cabinet.

For these tables, you can use the Tilde key method for raising the volume.

tilde0_t.jpg

First you need the PinMAME window to be accessible with your mouse.

There are 2 ways of accomplishing this.

1)

You can go into your VpinMAME folder and run PinMAME32.exe.

Double click the rom to run it.

Once it is running, left click on the PinMAME window with mouse and hit the Tilde key.

This will bring up volume options, that can be toggled with the left and right arrow keys.

Press down arrow key for more volume options.

When you have finished making your adjustments, hit the Tilde key.

Now close PinMAME32 window.

Your settings should be good on next run of table.

2)

You can get to the PinMAME window by going in table script and on LINE 47 you will see this...

            .Hidden    = 1

Change this to...

            .Hidden    = 0

Now the PinMAME window will show when table is running.

Left click the PinMAME window with mouse and hit the Tilde key.

Use right and left arrow keys to toggle volume adjustment.

Hit down arrow key for other volume adjustments.

When you have finished with your adjustments, hit the Tilde key and restart table.

Should be good to go.

Altering the first top volume slider using the first method results in the setting not being saved no matter how many times i do it or even if i alter the sequence. It's not having it. I can alter all of the other volume sliders following that main slider and have them save, but the main volume slider refuses to remember any changes made to it. Those other volume sliders following the main volume slider are labeled mech vol, 1 2 3 and so on. As i said, the changes i make to them stick when saving. The main volume doesn't. The electronic sounds refuse to lower in volume using this method when i start the table again.

The second solution doesn't work after i change the script and save. The background simply has a tiny led readout of the scores in the top left side, the rest of the screen is black except for the table. I changed the setting back in the script, saved, went back, changed it again and it still doesn't show up.

EDIT: user wiesshund provided the answer. run table, press F12, enter a numeric value less than 0, I chose -10, click ok, press F3 to save. Problem solved.

Thanks for your efforts XENONPH!
