My name is Kairy and I am very new to the virtual pinball world.  I am learning fast though.

After I installed your ( Elvira and the Party Monsters (Bally 1989)_Bigus(MOD)2.0 ) I was getting 2 script errors on loading table, and I am not very proficient in script ( coding ) so i am not sure what i need to do to fix this.  i did notice that when I go into the script I cannot change anything even if I wanted to, It seems to be in a locked out state.

 1st error message says     VBSript

VPI tflips error Variable Is undefined

then the next error shows up as soon as i click ok on the first error

2nd error message says    VBScript

                                           UseSolenoids + 2 error

                                           GameOnSolenoid is not defined

System may be incompatible (Check the compatibility list) of your system

scripts may be out of date

then Pinup Popper crashes and I have to reboot my computer.

Does anyone have a solution to help with this problem

Thanks again and have a great day.

Probably cant change the script since it is "technically" still running .. but in error state.

As for the error - chances are you are not running the version of vp that it is coded for. Is it perhaps using one of the later betas?

which VPX-version do have installed? the vbs error is caused by core.vbs, that belongs to the VPX-Package.

you must copy all vbs-files from the folder scripts to the appr. folder of your VP. (c:\VPinball\VisualPinball\Scripts) F.e. VPX 10.7.3 has a core.vbs dated 10-24-2022 with 101556 bytes. Link to VPX 10.7.3 https://github.com/v...ases/tag/10.7.3

some further hints:

  • at first tables must work without running Popper
  • I don't believe that Popper crashes.  When a table "crahes" the player runs further in the background and it seems that it had crashed
make a shortcut of the "showtaskbar.exe" on your desktop. In case of hangup of popper you can start that tool and taskbar is visible again. The you can see in the traybar which PUP-progs are running in the background to close them
  • Also In that case you can enter the hotkey to exit the table, so that popper returns to the wheelbar
It helps to define a special key for "menu/system exit" in the controller-setup. Then you can close the whole PUP-progs using this key, but only when no table is running

Thanks for your help guys.

My vp and all softare is new I have only been apart of the virtual pinball world for just over two weeks. I used the baller installer to start off with, so I am sure all my software is up to date,

I do not know what version of vp it is coded for and i am not sure how to tell.  I assume it is in the script but I do not know what to look for.  I can read script I just cant understand what I'm reading unless it has a notation beside it in English :)  I know how to look for the rom name and certain b2s compatibilities, but that is

and when pooper "appears" to crash on me i was using the "alt"+"tab" to see what was still active and the windows that it showed involving pinball would not allow me to close them and I eventually got the table and backglass to close but I could not relaunch popper and the full DMD would not go away unless i rebooted the computer.  even if I used task manager to close.

Then all went back to normal.

I just looked and I only have vp 10.7.2

so I have downloaded 10.7.3  do I just install it over top of my existing setup or is there a proper procedure to install it that will do any damage ?

unzip 10.7.3 update into existing vpx folder and allow overwrite

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Ok, you have used baller-installer, a good choice to reduce installation problems.

download the recent baller-update from https://www.nailbust...ate_baller_2023. It contains not only the vpx-update, also update for FP/BAM aund pinmame

it contains vpx 10.7.3. unlock the zip-file and as wiesshund mentioned, copy and overwrite all files in the dest. directories

I suggest to use 7-zip to unzip archives, because it autom. removes the blocked flag when unziping the files

I get a similar VBS Script error with the Elvira table but it is different. "Can't start gameeatpm_l4 Object required". I have the eatpm_l4 Rom installed.  Updating to 10.7.3 didn't fix it.
