File Name: America's Most Haunted (Spooky Pinball 2014)_Bigus(MOD)

File Submitter: bigus1

File Submitted: 20 Apr 2021

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME - MOD Tables

Author(s): Bigus1, freneticamnesic, Shoopity
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 2014
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

This beautiful table from Freneticamnesic and Shoopity is challenging fun.
I think this is what the deep-end looks like! 13k lines of complicated.
I gave it my best shot at a makeover and squashed some bugs, but a Gremlin got away
and pops-up occasionally. No tilt and ball-search is flaky. Some long waits.

Empty the contents of the AMH Music folder directly into your Music folder.
Put the whole DMD folder into your Tables folder.
If you used the All-in-one VP installer, you're good to go. Otherwise, install Ultra DMD.
2.0 has new physics, lighting and sound.
Enjoy :)

I tried different tables/script combos, but I was just swapping one set of issues for another. This seemed the most stable combo. This table doesn't work like anything I've seen before and was doing my head in. The physical gameplay is all that I was asked to fix, but I wanted to add some sparkle too. I had to make some big compromises with the lights because they are tightly controlled by script. Standard intensity and timing settings do nothing. A lot of stuff there I don't understand just yet. Anyway, the balls and table elements seem to interact properly now, so at least that's sorted. I hope.

I can't seem to get the blackglass to work on this. Using the 3.0 version. Any ideas?

EDIT: Sorry, fixed!

Shoopity really did some wizard magic stuff with this script. It's dizzying. I'll have to go through the other thread and see what bugs people are having, it's been so long I don't remember. If it's script related and I can fix it I'll share it with you.

One thing that may help, if the other script really is better as wiesshund says(I never did try it myself), opening both in Notepad++ and doing a line-by-line comparison to see what's different. I use Notepad++ for all my scripting, here's a guide on how to compare code: http://www.technical...-using-notepad/

Yup, dizzying - that's the word.  I love how you can rename lights and stuff and they still work normally. WTF???  I tried Thal's script and still had the same issues, so I stuck with the script that I had already modified. The issues seem less frequent with this one. I couldn't make the table posted here work properly because the insert lights aren't positioned correctly and I gave-up after a week trying to sort it. I used the other table with working inserts, but the script from this one. So the insert problem wasn't in the script. What a trip! I also deleted the entire layer 4 of duplicate prims that were set visible. Fux me.

The remaining issues aren't much of a problem, but it would be great to get rid of them. Shoopity's magic is too strong for me :stunned:

Never tried notepad++ for comaring script files - probably never will when there is something called 'vimdiff' :)

For quick diff check, this is something I've used if I'm sit booted up in WinBlows. https://www.diffchecker.com/

Can someone help me please, the .b2s is not activating and I have a hunch it is turned off by default in the table script as the prior version of AMH pre-bigus would activate the .b2s without issue. The table script is a little over my head. I can see where B2SOn is dimentioned but I can't find where it is set = true; I only find conditions where it is checking if it is "true". Thanks in advance.

REVISED After testing: NM, I found it just above the Dim commands: Had to uncomment  rows 24 & 25. Working fine now. Leaving my post for anyone else wanting to turn on the B2S Server.

Dim Controller
-------> Set Controller = CreateObject("B2S.Server")
-------> Controller.Run

'Various Variables

Dim TextStr2, B2SOn, DOFs

Const LMEMTableConfig="LMEMDOFTables.txt"

'B2S/DOF version
sub SaveLMEMConfig
Dim FileObj
Dim LMConfig
dim temp1
dim tempb2s
tempb2s=0
if B2SOn=true then
if DOFs = true then

The table is not turning it on or off
it is only checking to see if it is on or not

Check that backglass and table file have the same exact names?

The right kicker should kick out to the right flipper

and kick out a lot harder than that

That is rather odd that you had to do that.
But it may be because i am using the newer scripts, which Toxie said were not rolled into the 1.6.2 update, but can be gotten out of the 10.7 beta

There have been a few things i took for granted worked, and found out they only worked with the new scripts

and had to be manually done via table script otherwise.

I put them here, incase anyone wants to use or just look at them

Scripts Revision 136-a4822e3

Thanks Bigus1, freneticamnesic, Shoopity.

This is a fun table, it looks good and a lot of the callouts made me smile.
