We now have a release date, October 20.  So here in Oz that will be 21st October, oddly enough, my birthday

For those who have been through this before, the new EXE that delivers this pack will stop DOFLinx from working with FX3.  The good news is that I already have the backglasses built, ROM in draft, FX3 files in draft, MX effects ready to go, as well as the other required bits and pieces.  I hope to have a DOFLinx release within a few days of the release from Zen.

So, its arrived.  I've just downloaded and tried a couple of games.  Its late here in Adelaide, so I'll get into all of required investigation and changes from tomorrow after work.

 

In the interim DOFLinx will just sound the "FX3 link failed" siren and log that fact.

For those following along ....

- Not a complete night to work on things tonight as it is my birthday and my family had some nice things for me that (yes) were higher priority 

- I believe I have the required memory mapping

- I have most of the key names I need for the three new games

- For some strange reason FX3 has been locking up for me a lot during startup and menus.  I don't know why, but its very annoying and time consuming

- I will get back into it tomorrow night

- There should be a full solution well and truly before the end of the weekend, perhaps before

thanks for the update.

also encountered lots of freeze issue at startup and it looks like the dev are aware, something was broken when cabinet support mode is active leading to various issues (more on their steam page)

Thanks for the lead.  I'm sure they'll fix it quickly (yay), but that means another likely followup DOFLinx rework (damn)

you're welcome. BTW this fixed the freeze issue at startup for me:

I found a solution for me I hope it will work for you it is necessary to be in windowed mode without border and not in full screen.

You go to your Steam / steamapps / common / pinballfx3 folder
and you open the graphics.cfg file with the notepad and you change the mode from 2 to 1.

OMG, happy Bday DDH69.  I'm sure you think your old, but I bet your not older than me.    Your stuff is amazing, thanks for all that you do.  I was playing a FX3 table tonight without DOF, it kinda sucks.

OK, looks like we have an update. 20 minutes in and no lockups - yay, but of course, now 90% of last night is a throw away and we start again ..... such is life I suppose!

I'm back to it this morning.  Mostly done, onto the testing.  I've got a couple of things I'm chasing down with Dr Dude to make sure they are not indicative of any other issue.  I'm working out of home today, so I hope to progress during some breaks and finalise late in the day.
