File Name: Argosy (Williams 1977)

File Submitter: beowulf99

File Submitted: 02 Sep 2020

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): beowulf99
user42
dboyrecords
luvthtapex
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1977
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Williams' last EM, this is a fun and fast table, often seen in the Classics bank at tournaments.

This VPX version is a full rebuild from the VP9 version by user42, from an original table by luvthtapex and a mod by dboyrecords. A number of gameplay inaccuracies have been fixed and rubbers and lighting added. A VR room has been integrated as of v1.1 and should work automatically if played in VPVR.

Thanks so much to the original authors, Sixtoe for the minimal VR room, UncleWilly and Arconovum for the EM reel system, VPX and VPVR devs, and the VPVR table community!

The drop targets should score 1000 points, not 500.

Fix:

Set the "MotorScore" value (lines 1622 to 1648) to "1000".

Thanks Albert! A v1.2 with a few fixes like this will be coming in a few days.

I just tested all 3 versions in DT mode, and all display the scores.

The only thing I can think of is...

Try opening table in editor, and clicking Backdrop tab on left side of editor, and on right side you will see an "Enable EMReels" which needs to be checkmarked.

I did. For some reason they aren’t there. Hmm, I will look again tomorrow, but the actual score reels are missing and my back drop is a weird arcade room?

Can you see the score reels in the editor? My pic above shows them.

Here is what it will look like when they work..,

You can also try going to Line 35 and you will see this...

        ScoreObj.visible = False

Change that to True so it looks like this....

        ScoreObj.visible = True

See if that helps?

When I get back to my
Computer tomorrow I will check it out. I will say, I know the reels are there in the editor but not when the game is started, and my backdrop is def not that wall and carpet.

Sounds like maybe you are seeing a VR room? Only thing I can think of.

I don't see an option in script to toggle VR mode on or off.
Maybe you are opening table with VPX GL.exe version?

Works fine in 10.7, not so much in at least later versions of 10.8.  If you need to use 10.8, go into the editor and uncheck visible on vr_floor, vr_wall_left and vr_wall_right in layer 11.  Also, probably good to select cover and change top image to apron on, and top material to plastic with an image.  Also, change desktop image to argosybg in backglass view.  Not perfect, but gets you scoring at least in 10.8 desktop.

This was the fix.  Thank you.  It was the Vr room blocking everything.  Once hidden, everything was visible.
