I was playing attack and revenge from mars 2.01 table today with 1.13 rom and noticed that when i hit it through the ramp to light lock. It doesn't register. Can someone confirm this?

I see what you mean, I was missing one trigger to enable the lock multiball, I'll upload a new version in a few minutes.

But the  to start the lock you do not hit the ramp, but the lane where the arrows point to, this is the lane close to the big ufo.

I did a couple searches, but couldn't find any information.........
I REALLY enjoy playing AFM and have about 60 PX tables installed and running fine, but I just installed Attack & Revenge from Mars today and not getting the background and commentary sounds (I do get the mechanicals).
I know I've encountered and fixed this before, but don't remember the process.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.  GREAT table so far!!!   THANKS

Sorry, nevermind.

Did a google search on AFM volume control and found it, I knew it was simple.

END to open the Coin Door and  8 or 9 to increase/decrease the volume.

Thanks!

When you upgraded to 10.7.1, did you forget to import the scripts and all?

And what was the exact error?

The latest version works very well with 10.7.1. But I'll update it to version 4 later today. But the changes aren't very different than in version 3 of the table. Some changes are only cosmetics, and the flipper setting are just a change in the properties.

Hi, sorry if this is not the right place to post this (old thread?)

I can't launch attack & revenge from Mars. I tried a couple different versions 2.0 and v4. I get this error, and figured it was the rom, but tried different ones and still can't launch it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

You can either update your VPinMAME...

Find here

https://www.vpforums...&showfile=11571

And\Or update your Backglass Server program to newest...

Find here

https://www.vpforums...&showfile=12553

Or you can delete the NVOffset (3) command from table script on Line 88.

Eventually you will come across other tables with this NVOffset command in the script, which will give you same error message.

Best to upgrade your Backglass Server program and your VPinMAME to avoid future errors, as both of these programs had ROMName function added to them.

Hi jpsalas,

I'm enjoying some of your recreations and originals.
All are running rather fine, except the sound that's not very well mixed.
The "background" sounds are way too low and they are "hidden" behind katana hits in Deadpool and any mechanical sounds in most pinballs (flippers, plungers, bumpers etc)

I can hardly hear the voices in Attack & Revenge from Mars v4, even by lowering individually mechanical parts sounds + levels in the audio parameters.
This problem occurs with many pinballs, not only yours.

Is there a way to get the original sounds of "Attack & Revenge from Mars" in the best possible quality ?

The voulme the roms produces need to be turned up via in game menu, much in the same it would be on the actual machine.

Thanks for your reply.
I've already visited this section before posting.
This problem is a normalization matter, I mean dynamics should be approximately the same for all channels and all sounds and the levels should be properly mixed on every single pinball.
The solution above means that users would have to fiddle with ROM settings of every single pinball, which is a real pain.
Maybe some automatic leveler and/or automatic gain control would solve this ?
Or else, some way to export someone's the proper audio settings (per pinball ?) and then to share them to everyone ?

No there is not. To do that you would need to either extract the sounds from the original game or hand record them. Then code them all to events in afm as this table uses the afm rom

"it will all be ok in the end, if it's not ok, it's not the end"

Welcome to the emulation :). You need to adjust the rom sounds/music for all the ROM tables. If the default volume from all the roms were at full then it should be easy, but it is not. Many roms have no volume settings either, and some other roms it is a matter of using the 8 and 9 keys to change the volume. On other tables you need to "open" the coin door first by hitting the END key. That link will explain what to do on each system.

My ROM settings were not saved because I didn't quit properly VPX, and also I renamed my table files in order to make them easier to sort. :clnglasses:

Now those settings are saved and I can listen clearly to the various sounds and musics.

Thanks for your help .

By the way, I like very much your tables JP Salas. Neat works ! :otvclap:

PS: I had a crash with Attack & Revenge from Mars v4.0.0 (acces violation error) and I don't know if the dump files could be of some help (52 MB after I zipped them with 7z).
