i hope you are a good programmer, my bad cats recreation was a lot of code, i can't imagine how much code TOM will take. I recommend trying out the Propst pinball scripting engine for it. its broken into classes for objects on the table and makes it a little easier.
I have a demo table on how to do the spinning trunk animation if you need it let me know. I was planning a hellraiser table with the TOM layout and the puzzlebox spun like the TOM trunk and then opened up. PM me if you would like to see it.
Good luck with the table

I don't even want to imagine how hard it's going to be to code that beast. Not to mention extracting and using all the sounds correctly. You couldn't have picked a harder first table. Well, maybe trying to make a Pin2K machine in VP is harder, but that's in it's own class.

ahhhh thats the spirit! I love the challenge is why I picked the table.. It for my own enjoyment but if it can pass my own standards of quality, it should be good for everyone. I have started some with the scripting today. So far so good.
Ive at least managed to get rid of some of the code I do not want with no problems. The sounds don't seem to be too big of a problem or at least not yet. So far I see these to be the major areas of challenge:
1. The DMD
2. The trunk
3. Keeping proper score, and having the right TOM sound bytes at the right time.
Pretty much anything and everything that makes TOM sweet!

I remember that cube that unclewilly made... it was quite cool and some clever thinking, although I think simplyus could make a model and animate it a lot easier, especially considering you need to attach the ball to the side of the trunk whilst it spins.
