File Submitted: 29 Dec 2018

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME - MOD Tables

Author(s): Destruk
MNPG
Rascal
Manufacturer: Premier
Year: 1989
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is a conversion of Destruk and MNPG's VP8 version of a 1989 Premier Hot Shots pinball table. Many thanks to Destruk and MNPG for their work on the earlier version. This VPX mod was done by Rascal. It needs the rom file "hotshots.zip" to run. Do not ask me for the rom, google search or find a friend. I put a lot of work in this so be kind.

I think I might be doing something wrong I downloaded it put it on my cab however the Playfield looks really blurry not focused and the quality is just not there for VPX. I have no issues with my other hundred 60 cables so I don't think it's my PC or video card or whatever.

Any thoughts?

This is a conversion of a very old table, and the playfield has not the resolution or quality of the newer tables. So there is nothing wrong with your setup.

JP is of course right on this. Rascal is on a mission to make the code and table available for the older Gottlieb tables to VPX. He, is not focusing on getting them perfect looking, but instead playable on the modern release of VP ( VPX ). It is up to the community to take these released further. He has clearly stated that anyone is free to improve upon them so anyone that see any of these tables in the wild can contribute taking better pictures or even better ... scans of any resources used. VP has always been and hopefully always will be improved by the users themselves. There is only a few that has the skill set needed to make a table perfect on their own. If you study the release of most tables that play very well - you find that they have been "touched" by more than one author. And that is why I love this hobby so much. It is community driven.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Ah ok. Cool.

Thanks for the info.

Thank you so much Rascal for all your hard work on converting these old tables and sharing with us. I appreciate everything all you authors do.

looking at the script and the manual, I believe that is L12, which trips a solenoid relay which enables a whole bunch of stuff.. according to the manual.  here is the relevant page, note the section below the playfield.

Thanks Dan :), without that page I wouldn't be able to complete the DOF

I tried to play with L12 lamp state in the dof config but i the combination of a certain solenoid and the L12 state isn't working on this table, for the force feedback, so i used quite a lot of E elements and added DOF commands in the script to achieve it, here's the updated script

@Rascal, can you do an update of the table with that script?

Changes are for having a complete DOF Force Feedback

I am attempting a redraw of the playfield, but I am working with blurry pics. Can someone tell me what is written on playfield lights L41, L42, & L24?
