I can send you my collection if you want to! I can also make the diamond one if you send me a cutout of the playfield!

I have uploaded a few more. The regular small triangle is missing. I'll add that one tomorrow!

My link seems to be dead!? Try this one:

Just took a look. I see that these are .stl files.

How do I convert those to usable .obj files?

Shit, i thought you are using Blender! If not, let me know and i convert them for you!

If you use Blender, just import .stl file and export as .obj. You might want to make the faces smooth before exporting.

.... if you are not using Blender you need rendered images that you can use in PS?

Any chance I can get them smoothed and ready to go in a conventional .OBJ format. I dont know jack about blender. But once I have the mesh and the texture, I can do the rest. All I really need is a white texture. And I can change the colors of the various inserts with a material color change.

No Problem! Will do it tomorrow! Just wondering why you need the high poly inserts for VP! Stabdard procedure would be to cut the rendered image out and paste it into the PF image with Photoshop. Are you testing something?

Let me explain what I am doing with the plastic flasher domes, like that sit on the Mixmaster of Dr. Dude. I uses those dome meshes and a dome white texture, and I use a disable lighting script to get them to light up in a realistic way. Check my latest DD table over on Randr's site. I plan to upload it here this weekend. Anyway, I want to do the same effect with those diamond inserts meshes and texture and embed the inserts into the PF. The PF I am now using is a mesh, and the holes will be cut out to allow the inserts meshes to simply drop in. Then I want to use a disable lighting script to make them look better than they do now. The mesh certainly does not need to be high poly at all I would not think.

Does that help any?

Understood! Good to know that you need low poly IL's. I made only high poly ones for rendering and need to save them in low poly at work.

Is it enough to just save a solid Block of the insert without the whole star shape polys inside, plus the correct texture from a more or less top down view (texture will only apply to the top surface that is level with the playfield)?

I do believe so. If you can send me the mesh and texture, I will try it right away.

Alright, done!

You might need to resize the prim because it's always a pain with getting the scale right. Big thanks to flupper for sharing his Cycles material.

If you have trouble applying different colours just let me know. From this point on it's a piece of cake to render the IL's in another colour.

Sorry for the delay. Had to take most of the day off from VP. Prims and textures worked like a charm, and did exactly what I needed them to do.

Many thanks. :)

Hey Schreibi

Wondering if I can another prim for my FH table. I would really like one fro the "large red arrow" with tghe "12" on it, just above the clock on the PF. It points towards the rear of the PF. You can grab the image from my released FH table. Or I can take a higher res photograph of the insert, on my real machine. By having this, it will compliment the round insert you did, very nicely. Right now, these two inserts are clashing.

Let me know. :)

Thanks
