Hi guys.  Hopefully this is a easy fix.  My VPX (10.5 rev3427) has been working great and I was last playing the update to Pinball Magic this morning just fine.  This afternoon I booted up and tried to play some more except now no matter which game it is (I've tried several others like  White Water, Gulfstream, and T2) the ball after launch immediately takes a sharp right as if the table is tilted in that direction.  It will go right there until it's pinned against the right wall.  Attempting to tilt the table will shoot the ball briefly in the tilted direction but then will sharply turn and gravity again takes it to the right wall.  I'm at a loss of what that could be and also how it has suddenly changed since this morning.  I did not tinker or mess with any settings.

I really hope someone knows exactly what I can do to fix this!

Unfortunately this behavior occurs for a very small amount of people and I could be wrong but I don't think anyone ever came up with a solution. Usually if you reboot it goes away. I have only had it happen a couple of times on my cab and with rebooting it disappears.

Sounds like you have USB joystick or steering wheel attached tha is not centered. Try unplugging it

What would it be if that's not the case?

@N3roflint, rebooting didnt fix it.

@gtxjoe, I dont have a joystick or wheel attached but I went ahead and reseated all my usb devices. Still encountered the issue. Then I noticed my systray had a notice that my wireless keyboard/mouse was low on battery. I couldnt tell which one so I replaced batteries on both devices and now Im good.

Ive tried 5 different tables and all work as expected. Not sure why this caused such a drastic side-effect but this will be the first thing I check next time I come across the weird gravity issue.

Thanks guys for tossing out ideas. I appreciate the help.

Good to see you found the solution on your system. Problem is there are others who have had the same thing happen where none of these solutions worked.

Hi. Unfortunately I am one of those unlucky people that also suddenly since yesterday (June 28,2020) have that strange gravity problem with all versions of Visual Pinball/VPX  PhysMod5 tables. Tried rebooting, uninstalling, registry cleanup. Nothing helps. Only solution for now is that I uninstalled Visual Pinball from my computer and await the time when finally someone finds the cause of this problem. I will careful watch this space for when that happens. Happy pinball playing to everyone else!

Download DIView. Run it and see if there is anything sending "keys" to VP. That can be - like described above, bad batteries, nudge units, whatever. DIView, shows you direct input information which VP uses. It is just a exe - won't hurt your system.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Thanks for your reaction. I now download it from http://www.leobodnar...iles/DIView.zip and give feedback soon here. I really appreciate this fast response !

UPDATE: PROBLEM FOUND & SOLVED !!

Indeed DIView showed me what went wrong: The GYRO of my X-Box Controller was sending inputs which confused VPinball. After disabling the gyro, DIView showed no more inputs from my X-Box controller and after playing some tables the problem seems to be gone.

THANX man you have my gratitude!
