Hi, I have a few ideas for pinball games, the total is more than 10 possibly, because I have seen some pinball games on this site that are based on arcade games, like Gradius (a VPX original), by the way. That gave me the inspiration for the making for pinball games based on the arcade games that are not pinball. NOTE: I am not a coder at all, I cannot make a script for a Visual Pinball table easily so for me to make these I need to work with other people that are on this site.

Some of my ideas for pinball games are:

  1. Pac-Man
  2. Bubble Symphony (or bubble bobble 2, I want to do bubble symphony pinball instead of bubble bobble pinball because bubble bobble pinball is already created for future pinball, I want some different features on this game.)
  3. Raimais (maybe, and before you ask, that is not a typo, that is an actual name of a game.)

Just in case you would want to know, one of these arcade games are by Namco, two are by Taito.

Suggestions for pinball tables are always welcome!

And if you can help me create these pinball games, that would be appreciated! I might provide the music and sound files, and I will test out the pinball games.

By the way, many of you may not have heard of these games, you can always look them up on Wikipedia, or search for videos of that game on YouTube.

For me to make these tables I need a coder to write a script, a table designer which may not be me, someone to provide the sound and music files for the game, and like always for making any kind of game, just in case I also need a tester, which I may take the time to be one of them.

I shall make a team to help me create these Original tables (not all spots are taken yet). Current team is:

Coder (script writer): 4Eyes (once he learns scripting in VPX, at the moment the spot is still open.)

Table Designer: Spot is open

Sound & Music: Me for some games, could use more.

Tester: Me, But people that are willing to test the tables with me are appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

Strange Brew the Canadian movie with Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas!!!

EDIT: Ok, now my brain is really churning guys! First off, if you haven't seen it, in a nutshell it's a stellar B movie.

But can you imagine, a ramp to the castle, a ramp to the brewery, a ramp to the insane asylum! The mouse in the bottle!

The drone-like white and black hockey robots! The evil Elsinore master! Eh, the sound effects would be outstanding hoser!

OK, just to let you know, I do not know about that movie, and that means I haven't watched that yet, but maybe one day.
And me providing the sound and music depends on the game or movie, by the way.

My first VP table was called Nemesis (which is the European name for the game Gradius) with the sound and graphics from the Nemesis MSX game :)

there is never a lack of names and themes for games.... the issue is someone willing to code the games...
this will sound like a broken recorded but i have tables in the works for years and no one has taken on the task of coding them...
I have a Nightmare Before Christmas and a Slayer table that I could convert to VPX at any time... but finding someone that would take on the huge task of coding originals is a whole other thing...
so most times I wind up rethemeing existing tables...

Really? I didn't know you made that. I also didn't know that the game Nemesis is the European name for Gradius. (I have never played Gradius before, by the way, but I have seen some game-play videos of that game so I know what it is.) By the way, Designing a pinball game may not be all that difficult, but making a script for it, now that's the hard part. I can't make a script easily, so I need help on every table I create, one day I might get it though.

I agree with HF. I was lucky enough to have a great author help me script my original table (which still hasn't been released, waiting on DOF)
I have tons of ideas too, and I hope that someday I can use my script with a few tweaks to apply to future tables.
But don't give up, I feel the community needs more original tables.

G'day y'all,

I have 2 ideas for you guys that need script help.

1) Use 1 of the several templates

2) Ah.... I'm pretty rusty, and have never written a VPX script, although I've written for VP6 and have fixed a number of table that don't natively run under VP 9, but I do love to code.... ah, I'd be willing to help provided (!!!) you have an idea of what you want.

Well... I was going more for making tables for VPX, but VP 9 may be fine for me, original tables are still being made for that version today, so that's fine by me.

Now to find a designer for VP 9 tables...

DONT DO IT!!  PLEASE!! DONT DO IT!

at this time there is NO need to build in VP9 (its now over 4yrs out of date).... its had its time, and is still needed for tables that don't exist in VPX yet.... this would be like developing for windows 3.1... lean VPX, in the end because your new its MUCH easier.... the guys that have a hard time with VPX is because they have always designed in vp9 and there is a learning curve they dont feel like get over....

again just learn VPX, your final product will be MUCH more satisfying

Calm down, OK? It's less of a chance that i'll use VP 9 to make tables. The script for VPX tables may actually be the same than VP 9 tables, only there are more commands. I'll use VP 9 if I have to, but it's extremely unlikely that i'll do that. Don't worry hauntfreaks, I'll try my best to do VPX tables.

I totally agree with hauntfreaks, use VPX! It has rubbers, animated lane switches, animated bumpers, animated targets and droptargets, incredible fading lights, and more flexible flashers. You can make one table and use it in both desktop computers and cabinets. It can also handle much better the 3D objects. And the script part isn't much different than VP9, actually it is easier to program since you don't need to handle many of the animations. I think the only animation that needs to be scripted just now are the slingshots. So try VPX, you won't regretted! :)

oh i'm calm... hate seeing someone waste their time.... VP9 is like the guys still building in FP that does not support rom emulation and software that went out of development like 10yrs ago...  ;)

Wow! I didn't know that in VPX, one table is compatible with computers and virtual pinball cabinets!

Oh and also, I think you (jpsalas) can script the tables and maybe make the table design for me, as I saw in the main description for the Diablo pinball table, you made the table design and the script for the table (not 100% sure though, been a few days since I looked at that, so sorry if you didn't code tables before, I think you did before though).

I think just now I have too many things pending to start with an original table. It takes several months to code the script for an original table. Start by looking at easy tables, like another original or an EM table, since they don't use a rom, and see how the script is written. Maybe don't start with Loserman tables, they may be a little too complicated :) But most of all get used to the VPX editor, see what kind of objects you have and what you can do with them. Start with the example table, that will give you an idea.

Well... maybe because of that, since I really want this done, you can work here and there periodically. You don't have to make this a daily thing, I know that would be too much for you because of how busy you are. You don't have to do this if you think it's too much for you, but if you could, that would be appreciated as would like the tables done ASAP. You don't have to rush it, by the way, not that anyone would end up doing that with making pinball games anyway. You can let me know if you're ready, jpsalas.
