Hey all,
I hope you understand what I mean (I´m from germany) :tongue3:
I would like to share my project here :)
I got many hobbies and one of them is (virtual) pinball! :D

The idea is to build a small (mini) size cabinet, so it fits in our living room and it is easy to transport to other places (etc.). :)

My plans of the Cabinet:
img_7499.jpgimg_7498.jpgimg_7501.jpg

My plans to control the buttons with an old keyboard:
img_7500.jpg

Haha, I now my plans are so beautiful :tapping:

The playfield and backglass monitor:
img_2281.jpg

After spending lots and lots of hours of thinking, I had cut out the Front the Sides and the Ground plate:
img_2284.jpg

Oh no :bye2:  one week break because it rains to mutch...
In this time I create an holder for the backglass monitor:
img_2269.jpgimg_2246.jpg

So that was the first part of my Cabinet build preview :otvclap: :tapping:
(This is a recount of my preview (haha my cabinet is almost finished))
Hope you enjoy my work :love39:
Cheers,

Looks really good.

How are the wires attached to the keyboard chip? Are they clamped down with what looks like a blue plastic channel held down with 2 screws? Or does that just hold the keyboard chip to the perforated board?

Hey,
The wires are soldered to the keyboard chip.
No Blue plastic -> Metal
The metal channel with the two screws hold the keyboard chip in place. :)

Thanks for the information.

I also plan on using a keyboard chip & soldering the wires. Was just wondering if there was some other way to do it because the keyboard chip is not soldered into the keyboard itself.

On mine the keyboard membranes were just clamped down onto to the controller & the contacts look pretty clean. Even though the contacts were just clamped, do they still have a coating on them?

Ahh,
I understand what you mean with coating :)

Yes, the contacts have an coal coating to contakt the chip with the rest of the keyboard.
You must remove the coal coating befor you soldered the wire

How did you remove the coal coating?

I thought it was just solder on top of the copper contacts.

hey,
that wasn't solder on top of the copper -> coal consistence (same is inside in a potentiometer)
I remove the coal coating with an scalpel. (careful) -> you can damage the copper under the coal.

or you use sand paper

test it careful at the edge
not so easy :)

Hope I could help you
cheers.
