I am having issues opening the script in VPX. When I click the script icon it seems to try to open and produce a window that is not accessible. I can see that a window was started in the windows launch bar but I cannot open it. I have no problem opening the script in other version visual pinball. Can anyone suggest what this could be or how to fix it?

I think it has to be a new bug. Seems it has happend for a few of us lately. There problem is that the x and y coordinates for the editor is bloody huge in the registry.
So, just set them to 0 and you should be fine again.

Believe it was WindowRight and WindowLeft. It is quite obvious once you see the values.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Be careful with system restore. I don't know why - but, I've experienced tables being lost after doing that. It is easier to just delete the whole registry hive "editor".
It should not take much time to adjust just the editor all over again.

I had this issue a few times after installing a new table from another site (I'm certainly not blaming the author or site owner). Had to use system restore.
I had this problem with VPX tables but not the VPT ones. VPX files put on my system since the last rollback date got deleted.

I just close VPX, and delete all of the reg keys that are involved in the window that I lost (in this case, CodeView...) and restart.
I think VPX needs a "reset layout" option in the menu. ![]()

Thanks for the advice. I did try renaming the "Editor" key as suggested above and it did not recreate it. Ultimately I ended up getting it to work based on a suggestion that I found in another thread.
What I did was I hovered over the VPX icon in the task bar and saw that there were two windows. One was the table and one appeared to be empty. I right clicked on the "empty" window and chose Maximize. This opened the window to full screen and viola, there was my script. To get it "windowed" again I had to click on the window title bar and drag it. I was then able to resize it. Problem solved - at least for now. ![]()

Hmm. That is weird. I'm quite sure I did rename my 'editor' and it was re-created. But, maybe I just deleted it, can't remember. I'm not that worried about doing such things since I've taken some exports that I have laying around as backup if something doesn't work. Anyway. Happy to hear you resolved it.

I fixed this by going into windows registry, find the visual pinball fiolder/vp10/editor. First export the key to your desktop keeping exactly the same name, just in case you do something wrong you can undo it.
There will be numbers corresponding to x and y that will be HUGE meaning the screen is probably in your neighbours yard.
Just change those huge numbers to something more usable inside your screeen res. around 1000 or so. there may be about 4 numbers to change, really there shoul only be 2 but I changed all 4 and it fixed my issue.
close regedit.
restart VP10
When I did this it was juuuuuust in sight so I got lucky first go, if it didnt work, then change the numbers again until you narrow it down

The solution for me:
(Comment on old thread, but just in case someone is reading this topic for the asked question about the script window gone)
In TaskBar select the script window and 'maximize'
When maximized return to small
When small use the mouse to drag wider and higher
That simple... no registry edits and so on
