File Name: Lost World (Bally 1977)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 01 Jul 2017

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1977
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Based on the table by Bally from 1977.
Graphics were enhanced as much as possible, and were collected from different sources.

Thanks inkochnito for the dip switch routine (we always forget to thank him :) )
And don't forget to press F6 to set up your options.

The table is based on my VP9, although everything were build from scratch, with new playfield and plastic graphics.

Thanks again for a wonderful table.

On one DT mode game I launched a ball real easy. It just made it over the top & got caught somewhere right at the top & exit of the launch chute. The circle in the picture shows where it got stuck. The ball does not appear in the screen shot but as you hit the left or right nudge keys you can see the ball bounce around in the "pocket" that it's stuck in. No amount of nudging gets it free. It's probably a one-in-a-million chance this happened because I seldom launch a ball that gently.

What a nice table, this one glows, crisp graphics and plays good, although also had the ball stuck on top, nothing a good nudge can't resolve  :dblthumb:

Thanks JP ! ..... you're on a roll these days  :love39:

Update 1.0.1
- fixed 2 non-collidable ball guides, the ball could get stuck.

I remember adjusting those 2 ball guides and made them collidable, I guess the changes got lost during one of the crashes.

@Brer Frog: That's the reason why the ball got stuck at the top.

I have a few requests, Panthera, Elvis, Rollercoaster, more older tables from the 80's :)

Now I'llI take a small break. In two weeks I'll take a vacation, and I guess after the summer is gone I'll make a few more tables :)

Those older tables are quite easy to make with VPX :)

I'm working on a wheel image.  This WIP still needs the word "World", and the coloring is just a simple gradient at this time but I'll try to make it look more like paint.

JP,
I have been having a lot of fun with your recent tables, especially Big Game and Medusa. They are so great!

For some reason when playing Lost World, the flippers activate on a delay and sometimes not at all. The only thing I can compare it to is when playing a PM5 table with the VP9 exe. Not exactly, but similar.

I have tried playing Lost world with VP 10.2.1, 10.3 and 10.3.1. They all have the same result.

It's only this table that does this for me, as all others play great. Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

I figured this out.  There are two roms listed in the DOF config tool, both with the same name (lostw).  I had the config file with the first rom listed.  After switching to the second rom in the config tool, the flippers now work great.

Thanks!

I have a strange problem, The Game option thing comes every time I start the table... I answer OK  and OK and then F3. what do I do wrong?
