File Name: JP's Street Fighter II (Gottlieb 1993)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 31 Dec 2016

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Premier
Year: 1993
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Based on the Premier/Gottlieb table from 1993

I made the table using my own graphics. The layout and gameplay should be as close as possible to the original table.

Version 5 is only for testing VPX8, which by the time of this release is still in beta, that's why we need tables to test the new features :D

Had a good game, but during a multiball an error occurs.

I have some multiballswithout an error. Than the jackpot grows to 300.000 Million and the game ended.

Yes, those kicker animations can be a problem during multiballs, but not very often :)

But if you have a lot of problems with those animations then just remove them in the script :) They are easy to remove. Simply search for "do a ball animation" and remove the whole line, there are 3 of them. For example:

Sub sw33_Hit
    PlaySound "fx_balldrop", 0, 1, -0.1, 0.25
    Set aBall = ActiveBall:Me.TimerEnabled = 1 'do a ball animation
    vpmTimer.PulseSwitch(33), 150, "bsLKicker.addball 0 '"
End Sub

And removing the line:

Sub sw33_Hit
    PlaySound "fx_balldrop", 0, 1, -0.1, 0.25
    vpmTimer.PulseSwitch(33), 150, "bsLKicker.addball 0 '"
End Sub

I remember, at any Programm Language, there was something about "on ERROR goto ...",
are there any Ways at VP, to continue with the Code ?

Nice, the good old BASIC days, the On Error goto command was usually used to trap division by zero errors, though it could be used to recover from various errors depending on the error code returned. I'm not in the know if such a command is available within VP Visual BASIC.

Yes, there is the "on Error Resume Next" and the "On Error Goto 0" both used in vpinmame tables, mostly during the table init..

End Sub

Sadly after deleting the three lines, there are other errors during gameplay.

Ball stucks in the holes, new balls are coming out, if one of the balls drain during multiball the flippers stop working.

So I let the three lines in. Maybe you find another solution in the future.

Awesome game jpSalas. I did not have the ROMS so I got the roms to play it. It says you have a older VPX 10.2 version. Did they forget to update the VPX data thread. You must have a version I dont have. So when the game loads it says. You are running an older version and may not work. But it still works fine. Also. There is no DMD that shows up. So just a heads up.

I got the latest version. from the Beta Thread here.

:)  Ok. I was checking the Beta Thread. Instead of the Download Area. Thanks.  That is probably why there was no dmd.

Hello!

It's possible to add backglass to this amazing table?

wondering how the tilted scorebox works on this table.  I have looked through the script and can't seem to find anything.  Usually I click on the backdrop and can visually see the scorebox and it has the text of DMD in it, or a series of lights

Instead of adding scorebox or textbox to the backdrop, he placed DMD off the side of table on flasher 21, which has settings for rotating the flasher.

capture268_t.png

You can change line 70 from this

70          .Hidden = DesktopMode

to

70          .Hidden = 0

To bring out the regular DMD if needed.

Thanks, forgot that flashers could be used this way.  Onto getting a rotated display for JP's Legend of Zelda.  Any ideas on that one xenonph?  (I want it rotated for my pincab)
