File Name: Asteroids VPX

File Submitter: theGhost787

File Submitted: 03 Dec 2016

File Category: VPX Originals

Author(s): ghost
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Asteroids pinball, playfield design from pinball builders. Re draw by ghost, Game plays good.
Includes sounds from original asteroids game. Also has rotating asteroid, and lighting. Some scripts.
Scoring issue where score jumps up then back down. Middle island needed adjustment for shooting.
Now it works well. Game is freeware and free to modify.

Needs No Roms To Play.

It plays well.

Is the right sling supposed to be dead? Also the ball got stuck at the same place, once from being hit by the left pop, to the side of the mid bank rack , and once dropping from an inlane (2nd or 3rd) They were freed by a gentle nudge..

Not sure if the right sling is dead, I had to lower the bounce physics because the ball was all over the place. The ball also got stuck for me. In the middle. I will have to fix that. Thanks for letting me know. I nudged it loose too.

Is there any way to get the scores to display on another monitor like the dmd? Or at lease rotate it so it can be easily viewed when playing in a cabinet?

I think that is why the table author never made a FS POV for this table. I think Textbox Scores cannot be rotated.

This Table is nothing Special, but i think, someone will love it ... let me know ...

So, here is the simple 3/5 Ball, and Game Over ... you can Change 1 - 5 Ball anywhere at the top of the Script ...

Have Fun again ...

FYI, in case anyone else wanted to turn off the  music, just comment out the line PlaySound "1Asteroid",-1

I prefer it without the music. kinda annoying.

Anyone know how I can replace the standard bumper sounds with the asteroid bang?

Sub Bumper1_Hit
AddScore(500)
PlaySound "3Shoot" 'or Change what Soundfile do you want
A5.State = 1:A6. State = 1
Light3.State = 1
Timer1.Enabled = 1
End Sub

This for Bumper2_Hit and so on ...

You can see the Soundnames/Files in Editor / Table / Sound Manager ...

I loaded some of the wav sounds for Asteroids into a folder then used sound manager to reimport the desired sounds. Much better. Got the flippers setup to make the fire sound and bumpers making the thunder sounds. Just was not into the annoying music. Rather just have the orig arcade sounds. thanks

Hi, I was wondering if this was removed?  I've looked through STAT's download page and don't see it anywhere. I'd love to get this going.

Thanks for all the other hard work, I downloaded a few others and was able to clean up some of my missing art.  Thanks again.
