File Name: Quijote (Juegos Populares 1987) FS VP9.9

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 29 Sep 2016

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1987
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is Quijote by Juegos Populares.

This pin was the last production run made by Juegos Populares before the factory was closed down. It was re-released by Automaticos Montecarlo under the name Pimbal or Pinball 3000 with only some minor changes to the backglass writing. It has a captive ball within an elevated tube and features a 2-ball Multiball.

Again Akiles provided the playfield photos, plastic scans and the reworked apron and backglass images.
Zany made the really nice Flipper models and the clear tubes.
Arngrim added the necessary DOF calls to the script.

A DIP switch menu allows the adjustment of number of balls and some other table features.

At the top of the script You can change some settings:
- choose between 4 apron designs, Quijote and Pimbal with both English and Spanish instruction cards
- adjust the lane posts between a moderate and hard position
- enable the apron match light animation (if You run the table without a B2S)
- set the table to FreePlay

The table rules as well as a backglass image and a wheel are included in the download file.

The main goal are the Drop Target banks. Completed banks enable features that must be collected to be active.
Be aware that a lit feature must be collected before the next is activated.

The ROM used is pimbal.zip

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.

Michael

Hello Michael,

great done, as ever!!! One question and one suggestion:

How can I adjust the sligshots to a little more power?

When you shoot the ball into game and it hits shown rubber (what is most the case) it always run through the left way onto the playfield. Can you give the red arrowed rubber more elastic properties in order to "reflect" the ball over the three lanes?! Or tell me how to do so.

Nevertheless, thanks for this nice table, Christian.

To give that wall more bounce, find it in the editor and right click with mouse. Select rubberwall11 from the list. You should first uncheck lock, shown in list in box .

Then at the side you can change elasticity from 0.7 to something like 1.1 to add more bounce. After changing to what suits you, save the table.

And you are right, it's a fun fast table. Always a treat to have a rare table brought to life so well.

Hi guys,

thank You for the answers on my behalf. I have a busy time at work these days. By the way, Batch has sent over a desktop backdrop image.

So I will be able to release a desktop version soon.

Michael
