All I can say is WOW!! Have not gone through all the tables yet but wanted to give some early impressions.

The improvements from the last gen version are night and day. Every table is rendered in full 1080P HD. This is by far the best looking pinball simulation to date.
And the best playing for that matter. The physics are dead on, They really nailed it on this one. I thought they took out the real time reflections on the ball from the videos I saw last week but I can tell you they they are in fact there. the last gen version was nice but I thought it was a bit overdone, But this time I think it's perfect.

Played a couple games of Medieval Madness. This table looks AMAZING! every little detail is there and it plays just like I remember in real life.
Well I'm gonna get back to playing the other tables.. If you own any of the next gen consoles get out there and pick up this game, Simply incredible!

cool.gif You've got me hyped up. I ordered mine online and will have to wait a few more days. How's the nudging? Is it like the earlier version?(which I didn't think was too bad)

I posted my preliminary impressions in another thread - here:

http://www.vpforums....amp;#entry21879

I love this game. I am playing it on a 360 using an old 37" sd tv and it still looks awesome, it looks incredible on my friends 46" lcd tv. As I posted on the above referenced thread, it also plays like a dream.

As far as nudging goes, the left thumb stick is used to good effect. This works well because the triggers are used for flippers, so your thumbs are free. The right thumb stick is used for the plunger. I find that I need to nudge a little bit more in often than I do in vp.

"Pinball is the absolute pinnacle of human achievement, the perfect union of art and science, the purpose of mankind's creation and the answer to its greatest mystery, the very meaning of life its self."

I'd say the nudging is better than the earlier version. After playing all the tables I'm more than impressed.I knew it would be good cause I played all the earlier versions and I thought they were great, But this one takes the cake. I still cant get over how good they look. Ball reflections, Table reflections even the table glass reflections all look great. all in HD and 3D. If anyone gets the 360 version and want's to add me as a friend feel free. the online leader boards is a nice touch but still don't know why there is no muliplayer.

I just got mine about 45 minutes ago along with Halo Odst, so right know i'm going to play Hall of fame on my 360 and i will report back. I bought it for the Playstation Portable it's too bad they don't have No good gophers, Midevil madness, and tales of the arabian night on the psp maybe they'll do williams collection part 2 on the psp and add newer tables, so i can play them on the go. Well i'll report back very soon. Dave P. P.S i'll also report on Halo 3: ODST also and let you know how that is. Keg i'll put you on my gamer tag, i use Panootz on that too, it's easy to remember. See ya.

I'd like to know how well it plays when you compare it with VP. I'm only interested when the physics of this game are better than VP9.
What about the 3d effects I see on youtube, I hope standard VP view is optional.... don't like getting seasick during a game of pinball.

Well I will let one of the experts comment on the physics vs VP9. I think it plays great, As far as the views go there are 5 smart cam views and 5 static views. I'm sure there is one you will like. The smart cam view really works well IMO really smooth transitions.

I'm tempted to go buy a copy too...But I'm like TedB, physics will make the difference.

Don't see the point of going out to buy games that I can play on my computer for free and already enjoy.

I just finished playing all the tables on the challenge game, and i think it is unbelievable the graphics are arcade perfect. The lightning on Whirlwind is very impressive in the background and is synchronized with the thunder. The only problem i have with it is when the table moves it gets a little blurry, but nothing to be concerned about. Otherwise it's a perfect game if you want to play it on your Xbox 360 which is what i have, i havn't seen it on the ps3 yet but i got mine at Walmart. I also bought Halo 3: odst so later i'm going to try that one next i spent two hrs. on Pinball Hall of Fame, Tim Arnold and Steve Sellenoff got their names on the credits thats pretty cool, I sure hope they make more for the Xbox 360 and the Psp, i like it on the psp because when i travel i can take pinball with me and that's awsome, because i don't have the money for a laptop maybe someday. I'm going to go out on a limb and give the game a 10 because of the other things it can do like help you out with each table and a few other surprises. Well gotta go see ya, Dave P.

Could you tell me where I can get this? I assume PHOF means pinball hall of fame? Thanks!

@pinballman, You can order it on amazon.com for 29.99 USD

One of the features I forgot to mention is that when you beat the wizard goals for a table you unlock a variety of different balls to choose from and you also get to play the table in mirror mode. I find the mirror mode to be a nice new challenge.

Yeah, Ultrapin has Mirror Mode too - hold down both flippers in the table selection menu and press start for the one you want to play. smile.gif

Never new that destruk thanks for the info. Have you by any chance got to play this title yet? I would love to hear an expert opinion on it.
I think it plays great but you would no better than I would ever know.
Thanks

I still dont understand the total blackout of information on the next gen versions of this title when it comes to the Crave and Farsight websites.... as far as I can see their websites dont even acknowledge the game has been released or was even in production for that matter. Someone really dropped the ball there, has their web design guy been in a coma for the last year or something? (hopefully he hasnt sad.gif ) Farsight's last news release on their site is from 2007... ummmm.

Im also trying to find out if this game will actually be released for PAL or perhaps a region free edition so us non US players can discover its goodness (I think PS3 users will be ok but what about Xbox 360???). I read somewhere that it was actually slated for a Sept 15th release here in Australia but cant find that reference again and I havent seen it anywhere as yet.

Its getting rave reviews though.... which is fantastic.

Good to see that they did manage to get ball reflection included, that goes a long way towards visual realism I think.

@Gravy From what I hear the PAL version is gonna be released under the name of Williams pinball classics for the 360. Don't know to much more about it though.

Had to order my copy online. Went to my local Video game Store and they said the nearest copy was about 600 miles away.

I just don't think there is demand for Pinball reproductions...not when the newest Halo and other FPS shooters bring in all the dough.

Ah... yeah I can find a few obscure references to it but its not released by the looks of it. Thanks for that.

Yeah... it doesnt help their cause though if they dont do the most basic of promotion on their own websites... its almost as if they dont want it to succeed. Ive never seen a game released with as little fanfare as this.

That's the truth Gravy. It's pretty bad when the message boards do more advertising than the developers. They have a great game on their hands here, and they seem not to know how to sell it. How hard is it to update a simple web page every now and then, I may be trying to sell this more than they are... I just hope it makes enough to warrant future titles. And I would also like to see multi-player support.. at some point.

I think its so strange in fact that it leads me to think that perhaps they dont even actually have access to their domains and servers for some reason, maybe as a result of a buy out and someone didnt hand over the keys to the back shed.

As far as I remember, a company called "Fillpoint" is now involved with Crave http://www.fillpointsvg.com

Edit: Yep... it was a takeover http://www.cinemable...rave-15607.html so perhaps my guessing isnt that far from the truth.
