About a year ago, I posed a question regarding a relatively well-know issue with the Star Wars Trilogy VP table.  The X-wing cannon sometimes erroneously goes into "shoot" mode when a ball passes by it on the left return ramp.  You can then "shoot" the ball --- even though there isn't a really a ball in the cannon.

I was wondering whether anyone has found a solution yet?

This is one of my favorite games, but the emulation error has always made it a bit of a bummer to play.  It's certainly still playable, but the cannon issue can be distracting. Really hoping someone might have come up with a fix?

Thanks,

Jim

Yes, that's the original post I was referencing.  There were actually two separate issues at the time:

1) The cannon would not fire correctly when it was loaded with a ball --- this issue was fixed by Dozer via some script tweaks.

2) The cannon sometimes mistakenly believes it is "loaded" when a ball passes by it on the left return ramp.  This is still an issue.  I think Dozer was planning to explore it further at one point, but as far as I know, a solution was never identified.

Thanks,

Jim

Just "bumping" this topic to see whether anyone has had a chance to take a look at this issue as of late.

Hi there, I didn't ever get around to looking at the 2nd issue - I remember it though and at the time thinking it was weird.

If I ever get it sorted I'll post the solution - not sure when that may be.

Thanks!  I appreciate it.
