File Name: Star Fire (Playmatic 1985) FS VP9.9

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 29 Oct 2015

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1985
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is Star Fire by Playmatic, Full Screen edition.

Akiles sent me images and plastics scans of this rare Spanish pin. I started with no manual and got the table ready. Now there is a manual availiable at tecnopinball.org, so I was able to confirm the shooter lane switch and got the backglass light positions right for the B2S.
Zany contributed the great looking 3D Bumpercaps. Arngrim did the DOF review for version 1.1.

The table rules are included in the download file. There is a nice feature about hitting drop targets to open the right outlane gate.

The table is behaving a little bit odd compared to other ROMs, so the stranage Hit and Unhit events are there intentionally.

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.

Michael

This one is especially great. Love the animated drop targets. Rollovers are animated too. Soundtrack is in cool stereo. Nicely tuned physics. Awesome playing experience! :)

Trippy design: no slings. Interesting. A Playmatic standard?

Looking forward to DOF version someday.

DOF config is made :)

script wise, the knocker sound needs to be surrounded by SoundFX( ), rest is fine ;)

Are there slingshots in this table? i see switches on the script for that, but don't see slingshots moving..?

Hi Arngrim,

thank You for the review. There are no slingshots, only rubber switches in place. The naming was just habit.

SS are much easiet than an EM table, no need to add effects in scripts and mfuegemann knows how to tweak the tables for DOF ;)

This table is a blast! Thanks for doing such a great job putting it together for all of us who probably would have never seen or played this before
