Import fpx (blender animation)

Best Answer chepas , 27 July 2015 - 11:01 AM

Pfft lol.

"Yes, they're asset bundles. We use Unity 4.2 to create them. The reason for this is because they are difficult to de-serialize. We don't want anybody to reverse engineer any of our games and we are trying out best to make this as difficult as possible. Instead of handing over a FP build we decided we may as well keep them guessing."

These can these be imported without being packed into .upo , right?

I don't think you need to worry too much about animation with lifting ramps up and things like that because do it with Unity transform but wouldn't mind to give it a shot nevertheless.

:) Can edit the title to FBX if you like!

Duh. It should be possible, but I never did it. Louizou imported Milkshape animations though it is not complete if I remember correctly...

UPO is actually a part a the Unity structure: it can holds anything: objects, animations, even behaviours .. .as long as it is serializable.

We do it when we are "lazy" writing it all by script  :tapping:

Cool, I had no idea about that. I'm going to have to RTFM again. Thought it was just another way you import with your own file extensions.

Anything can be brought in from the game directory? I was trying to create things in Assets/Resources, Unit3D Pinball_Data\Resources and import with Resource.Load("model").

Same with this "Unit3D Pinball_Data\Resources\unity default resources"

And here "Unit3D Pinball_Data\resources.assets"

My mind is telling me there is hidden smokes & water in these, haha.

Where to start with this one....

Google .upo and this thread is up as the 4th result. What is the meaning of this goose chase and why? Can't import into Unity as they are to have a butchers and have no idea what kind of compressed file this is.

Have you purposely made this file difficult to open with vague answers and want to keep the models hidden?

It's not just a renamed unitypackage? Maybe pro only does .upo. I'll just keep guessing. :juggle:

I can see the job this is going to be for you trying to convert this process into help, good luck to you there and maybe it is best for most people to stick with Milkshape anims using the model direct from FP, but even then I think you're stuck with one animation. Got head in the clouds again and did create a few animations for this one model.

IEnumerator LoadBundle()

I think this kind of method from AFM ^ is what I was after the other day to load smoke prefabs.

I'll try create a REALLY basic class tomorrow and attempt to import my unitypackage (animated models) with this and see how it goes. At least in unity I can see what's going on and access my animations there. They work, so half the battle is won.
