File Name: V.1 (IDSA 1986) FS VP9.9

File Submitter: mfuegemann

File Submitted: 03 May 2015

File Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): mfuegemann
Manufacturer: Other - Pinball
Year: 1986
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is V.1 by IDSA, Full Screen edition.

Akiles sent me images of the playfield and the plastics as well as a gameplay video. Other resources of this table have been very hard to find. I did a redraw of the covered playfield areas. The lamp and switch number assignments I had to find out the hard way. Akiles and his friends have been a great help, comparing my suggestions to the real table.

Gerrit Volkenborn corrected the ROM behavior and helped finding out the correct solenoids and switches. He provided me with an alpha version of pinmame.dll 2.6 so that I was able to complete the table. Only the speech samples are not played at the moment.

Additional thanks go to Fuzzel for providing the lightmap images for the inserts, Kodiac for the flipper primitive routine and to JPSalas for the ball gates.

I added a DIP switch menu to control the table features as coin settings and the number of balls. You can access it via hitting F6. Please reset the table with F3 after any changes.

The table comes with the new configuration file code by gtxjoe that creates/reads cController.txt from the User directory. Just change the variable cController to 0 and the table is looking for the configuration file.

Remark:
- This game needs pinmame.dll version 2.6 to run
- I created a idsa.vbs file that is included in the download file, please place this file in Your Scripts folder

Have fun and please use the support topic to post any findings and suggestions.

Michael

This looks fantastic, but I guess we have to wait for the new release of vpinmame.

Looks like you need vpinmame.dll version 2.6 (not pinmame.dll version 2.6) and someone would have to recompile any other goodies additions we have in vpinmame 2.5 (DOF, etc)

Thanks for the diligent work to release this colorful, rare table. Quite entertaining to hear those original nintendo sounds in a pinball game from that era.

A fun flashback package presented very well, considering the challenges involved with the rom and resources.

Hi,

one hint: to avoid the pinmame-warning about the game not working completely, please right klick on the score display and choose "Game settings". There activate "Cabinet Mode" - then all warnings will be hidden.

does anyone have a link to the latest rom for this table

PinMAME 3.0 is asking for 2 bin files

Attached File  Capture.PNG   40.85KB   1 downloads

but the current rom

http://www.vpforums....&showfile=6377#

is generating a "game not found" when you load the table

I found the missing file "sp0256-al2.bin" in a rom named "sauro" (google search) and I added it to the file "v1.128"

Here is the link to the two roms, "v1" and "sauro"  https://www.dropbox....QHoNiaz58a?dl=0

I found the file "sp0256-al2.bin" in this MAME rom "Sauro" and added it to "v1.128" inside the rom "v1" and it worked fine too

yes,  the strangest thing is happening.

this table is so well built that it was very easy to convert it to VPX

the VP9 table plays fine with PinMAME 3.0 and CamP  dll

but the VPX audio  makes this table unplayable,

https://www.dropbox.... 1986).vpx?dl=0

the strange part is that if you restart the PC the audio is fine.  but if you load and exit the table a few times.

(something I had to do when I was building the table)  the audio problems start.

Just did a few rounds and I'm on the absolute latest on my edit machine. 1.0.5 beta with latest 3.1 beta pinmame off Universe. Didn't experience any sound problems ?!

Should mention though. Problems getting those balls to move - might be a beta thing.

Update: No, it happens for 1.5 as well. Only needed to exit VP and then reload table all over again. Kind of same bug that I've seen before. You can loose sound completely all of a sudden if you start a game over and over again without any reload.

I had the issue "rom or rom path invalid" with the 6kB ROM. Then I took the 8kB ROM from a different site and the game returns to "old glory"
