There is a shitstorm over on pinside in the Skit-B thread. It seems Kevin Kulek may have never had any sort of license for Predator.

It's too bad virtuapin is caught up in the dragnet as apparently Paul vouched for Kevin the Con man just a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, Paul said the license was in order and people are blaming him for missing their CC dispute deadlines.

Yep, Kevin lied to me, too, right to the very end. (Last Friday)

yea yea short recap kevin started skit-b to make pinball

announced a predator pin with a short run of 250 units

never secured the actual license for the theme

received at least 750k in pre-order payments from buyers

3 years later he has 10 prototypes a terrible game and still no license

oh also now he has FOX coming after him for using the predator name and other resources

apparently he thought, with a run of 250 units, he'd never attract the attention of FOX for not actually owning the license (probably)

some people got refunds last year before FOX got involved but everyone else is pretty much boned.

That even have Arnold image?! ... oh boy!

I bet that license cost a few millions... only if he had show it to 20 cent Fox, maybe they could be done a reasonable deal (promotion, assets, etc) ... he is crazy in doing that without permit!!!

Foul language in the video. Use discretion.

First Dutch Pinball got into trouble with their "Big Lebowski" licensing (i think Roger Sharpe smoothed that one over) and now another

project is so far ahead with their pin without the proper paperwork in place, it's a downright shame for the industry in general.

But still, i know a LOT of people are working their b**'s off to make this new pinball resurgence come to life with great projects all over

the place. Some themed pin's just are too damn expensive (licence wise that is) to see the light of day.

I just hope this doesn't damage too many people and their businesses, those are real people getting hurt.

I am hoping that pinball makers would go back to making original themes. It allows for greater playfield creativity and is not confined to an 'in the box' way of thinking.

That's a funny clip, but does anyone see the irony in using a contested clip of film footage without the proper licence to criticize someone making a pinball machine without the proper licence???    :pokey:

"No one is smiling at Constantin Film Production, which distributes the original "Downfall." It has called on YouTube to remove many of the videos because of a copyright claim."

The exact same scene was dubbed when TBL was experiencing the same licensing issues, but yep still funny as hell, while

the real movie was NOT (how can it be, that Hitler asshole should had his but kicked more often when he was a child)
