Hi All,

Very new to a lot of this stuff and having some trouble getting some tables to run. A couple of things:

- I have updated to the latest version of VP and VPMame (per installation instructions), I downloaded Addams Family and have been able to run with no problems, however I have downloaded a few more tables from the VP9.xxx desktop tables (Check, Dragon Interflip, Shangri-La) and when I run them they start to open then crash back to desktop with no error message. I was able to open Pirates of the Carrabean, Captain Fantastic, Top Speed and have no issues running them.

- I downloaded Jungle Lord 2.3 (and associated ROMs). When I run this it opens in the editor but when I go to play it comes up with an error message: 'Unable to open s7.vbs. Ensure that it is on the same folder as this table. File not found'. After a few more error messages I get 's7.vbs ver 2.33 or higher required'. Is this an additional download?

I am running VP on :

Dell Inspiron 15R laptop

i5-2410M 2.30 gHz

8 gig RAM

Win 7 64 bit

NVidia GT 525M

22" 1920x1080 ws monitor

Wondering if my system (particularly GPU) is affecting performance or if there is something I have missed.

Hope you can help.

In essential files is vbs 3.43. Download it and I think you may solve your problem

Thanks for that. I had the file downloaded but not extracted.

I extracted the files and dropped the folder into the Visual Pinball folder, unfortunately this has not resolved the issues outlined. The same error message is occurring on Jungle Lord and the other tables still go straight to desktop.

A fresh install perhaps?

Edit: after a bit more digging I found the vb 3.43 folder already installed under the 'Tables' folder.

Put all the sript files directly in the Tables Folder, and not in another folder.

I don't find Jungle Lord 2.3, just the v2.2 but i suppose it's a old version also.

So test with VPinball912 and not the last version VPinball9.9...

Well, managed to get some of the tables working by using the previous versions. Thanks for the help there. My .NET is also current, as is DirectX.

I am also finding I am able to open up other tables (Jungle Lord, Shangri-La, BTTF, Jurassic Park, etc.) in the editor, however I am still getting error messages when trying to run them. Each error is different but similar to the missing s7.vbs file mentioned above.

WRT Jungle Lord, this is where I get pointed to:

dim cgamename
dim i
dim usedfile
rem value for i:  0           1        2        3        4         5         6        7           8
usedfile = array ("bally.vbs","s4.vbs","s6.vbs","s7.vbs","s11.vbs","wpc.vbs","de.vbs","sys80.vbs","gts3.vbs")

Jurassic Park error - 'Unable to open de.vbs. Ensure that it is on the same folder as this table. File not found':

 Option Explicit
 LoadVPM "01120100", "de.vbs", 3.23

I feel I must be missing some fundamental, I just don't know where to look next.

Even if you have dx10 or dx11 you're still going to need dx9

Hi All,

First I just want to apologise for my ignorance in all matters pc.

I have tried to download DirectX9 from the links provided, however it tells me I have a more current version available and finishes the install without any changes.

I have had a bit more of a dig and found this relating to registry: http://www.vpforums....showtopic=27571. Is this something I should try? Also, where do I need to export these to? The default file path is system32.

Again, apologies for the ignorance, thanks for the help.

Ok, finally worked what you mean't :).

When I look in the Tables folder there are a heap of VB script files listed, including core, de, s7, etc. All the files which come up as errors are listed in the Tables folder, yet the tables do not run although they show up in the editor.

Any ideas on what to do next?

Thanks again for the help.

Sorry to tune in late; are the script files EXTRACTED (decompressed) into your Tables folder or merely dragged-n-dropped or copy/pasted? I ain't much of a diagnostic guy (more like geriatric) but I think they're supposed to be extracted.....

The script files should be extracted. You should see a bunch of .vbs files. If you are running windows 7, it doesnt hurt to right click on them and see if it says "blocked" - in that case unblock them.
