So first test version submitted to Apple, and other platform Betas coming soon.

Apparently they were also showing it off at the Dutch Pinball Open, so we are close!

It's taken a lot longer than I ever expected... but I'm not mad, it's hard to imagine it not being amazing.

Just came across the 30-min PinballNews seminar recording about Timeshock - covers both the real table and new ultra edition.  About half-way through Adrian Barritt speaks, and also answers some technical questions from the audience about the TImeshock Ultra re-make

He talks about support 3 screens for cabinets, a real DMD, the pre-rendering tech and why he chose it, and he mentions using 'reverse keystone correction' in the cabinet views.

I wish I had a pic of how we used to play Timeshock in the 1990's. I had a probably 19" crt monitor leaned all the way back with a book or 2 under the front, moved over from my multi tiered home office corner desk and on a narrow shelf that was jutting like a Peninsula next to it. This was our cabinet but we weren't smart/brave enough to hack a keyboard to move buttons to the sides of the shelf.
But we logged many hours and drank many beers traveling through time. Good times :)

Way back then, I was using a Hanaho HotRod joystick for VP which had a service button on each side that could be mapped to L and R flipper. I used right joystick down to launch the ball. The configuration worked great for Pro Pinball. I'm looking forward to TS ULTRA, but I never really warmed up to the original. What I'm really waiting for is BRUSA ULTRA!

I played it today and jeez am I ever impressed.  The physics ARE quite great, lots of fun and will only get better when they provide the new physics update later this year.  The new coat of paint is quite incredible, one of the best looking virtual pinball games I've ever played.  I can't wait for the PC Pincab version which has lights that look just incredible!

They could release this version as finished as it is and nobody would really complain. It's only going to get better, and already it looks and feels about five times more lifelike than anything Farsight has managed so far.

Got a high score of 356 million but I was at 340 million on the second ball, got an extra ball which almost drained as soon as the ball saver disappeared and then a repeat on the third ball lol. Fantastic game, I think I am going to install on my desktop PC the original time shock that I got as part of the kickstarter and play it for a bit, what a game, can't wait for the PC version hope it plays well on the pincab

From that video (below) of the first Alpha release playing in a cabinet it does look really good. Once it gets the cabinet render plus the animated toys they added to the second Alpha, and DMD and backglass support, it be be awesome.

Maybe this is just the iOS version, and maybe nobody else has noticed this, but there's a definite friction jump when the ball rolls onto the flipper. It slows down a notch - not much, but enough to throw your timing off when you're used to other physics engines or a real machine. I hope they'll turn it down just a notch.
