Van Halen version of Destruk's music template. this is the first version, changed the plastics and playfield. flyer and other goodies are included in the download. will update this table with original lights and bumpers when i make them. This table rocks, so many of Van Halen's songs are perfect for pinball.  Give it a shot.

Give it some time. Paul is probably busy. He'll get around to it.

cool. it was for the best anyway as i made some improvements, added Eddie Van Halen's signature guitar and Michael Anthony's Jack Daniels Bass, plus changed the drop targets , the skillshot sign and backwall. put the drummer on the playfield from the plastics and put fire graphics where he was on the right.

He approved the upload and now i updated it to version 1.02, may be the last version unless someone REALLY wants me to make new lights and various sounds for the table.

download here : http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=9847

it may need to be reapproved again, but the link to 1.01 works now.

changes in 1.02 -

v 1.02 changes -

Moved Alex Van Halen (drummer) from the right plastic to a ramp on the playfield, changed that plastic to the fire motif.

changed the "skillshot" sign to a VH silver logo (lights up)

removed the default electric guitar on the left and replaced it with a signature Eddie Van Halen guitar.

removed the acoustic guitar on the right and replaced it with Michael Anthony's Jack Daniels bass guitar.

changed drop targets to Van Halen design.

changed the backwall.

the original rom doesnt come with a way to reset the high scores to 0, so i reset this version in the script to set the scores at zero ONCE YOU RESET THE SCORES THROUGH THE ROM. once you do this, the high scores will set to 0.

I have a question about the table. How do I get the music to play for the table? I put the music files in both the music folder and "Sounds" within the VH table's folder, and I can't get the music to play during game play.

If you have played the music before you put it into the "music" folder, (maybe you wanted to hear the songs before playing the game?), it will add an MP3 TAG to the music making it useless if trying to get to run with table.

I would either re-download the MUSIC and place the music in the music folder,

(It comes in folder named sounds, but ONLY the contents of this folder need to be placed in music folder. DO NOT PLACE THE SOUNDS FOLDER IN THE MUSIC FOLDER, ONLY THE CONTENTS OF THE SOUNDS FOLDER),

or you can Google and download a free MP3 TAG REMOVER and remove the MP3 Tags, so they will work properly.

Or use the FREE MP3 TAG Editor in attachment below.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, xenonph. I appreciate the help, I'll try the file you attached and let you know what the outcome is. :)

I would first try just moving the contents of the "sounds" folder into the "music" folder. You may not even need to do anything else.

If I am reading your first post correctly,

You should NOT move the FOLDER named "sounds", only move what is inside that folder, to your music folder.

Glad to help Sir.

How do you change and select songs on this table? Is it with the flippers? I removed the tags, and still no music. :(

The Sounds folder was emptied, as I cut and pasted the song files into the music folder.

The music starts as soon as you press the Player 1 start key...which is the number 1 on your keyboard.

I would click my start button down in left corner of your computer,

click MY COMPUTER,

go into your program files or wherever you installed Visual Pinball, and find the music folder.

(This will be 1 Window)

Now in another window bring up the contents of the "sounds" folder.(Window 2)

Highlight them all and then just Drag-n-Drop them into music folder(Window 1). (Hold left mouse button down and move the mp3s to the other window that has music folder and then let go of left mouse button to drop them in music folder.(MAKE SURE YOU ARE EXACTLY OVER THE MUSIC FOLDER AS THESE WILL BE PLACED WHEREVER YOU LET OFF THE MOUSE BUTTON)

Maybe its the copying and pasting thats messing it up? Maybe they need to be physically moved into the music folder with mouse?

Or try deleting the mp3' that you have already copied into music folder first and then copy the mp3tag editted ones.

You shouldn't need that MP3 Tag editor if you never played the songs.

EDIT:

I SEE YOU HAVE PLAYED THE NFL (STERN 2001) BENGALS MOD.

THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS YOU LEFT ON DOWNLOAD PAGE.

IF YOU HAVE THE MUSIC FOR THAT TABLE WORKING, THEN THIS TABLE MUSIC SHOULD ALSO WORK FOR YOU.

ALL THAT IS NEEDED IS MP3'S NEED TO BE MOVED INTO MUSIC FOLDER.

DID YOU DO THE SAME THING WITH THIS TABLES MUSIC AS YOU DID WITH BENGALS?

DOES THE BENGALS MUSIC WORK FOR YOU?

ALL THE TABLES THAT COME WITH MP3'S SHOULD WORK OUT OF THE BOX. NO NEED TO DO ANYTHING EXCEPT MOVE THE MP3'S TO THE MUSIC FOLDER.

DOUBLE EDIT...

GO INTO YOUR MUSIC FOLDER, AND FIND THE MP3'S THAT GO TO THIS TABLE, THEY ALL START WITH "VH".

RIGHT CLICK ON EACH SONG AND CLICK PROPERTIES...SEE IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT SAYS..

THIS FILE CAME FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER AND MIGHT BE BLOCKED TO HELP PROTECT THIS COMPUTER...

TRY CLICKING UNBLOCK

THEN PRESS APPLY.

DO THIS FOR EACH SONG.

MIGHT HELP...JUST TRYING DIFFERENT AVENUES TO TRY AND HELP YOU GET THIS WORKING.

It was my pleasure, great table. It played with no modifications needed. I checked the music files, they are not being blocked. I appreciate the help. I noticed the same thing happening with AC/DC and Def Leppard, except that there was no music included with the Def Leppard table.
