Hello,
unit3D pinball is a great pinball game, it should have a Linux port.
LGDN.

I don't think "VPM" as such would ever be ported. It's mainly a COM wrapper around PinMame, and COM is windows-specific.
PinMame itself should already be portable since it's based on MAME sources, so someone would just need to build it as a library or something.
On the plus side, such a port is a lot more plausible for Unit3D pinball than Visual Pinball, which is deeply entrenched in Windows-only technologies. Perhaps if Unit3D pinball goes open source some day, someone might tackle this.

We would maybe reconsider it if VPM is ported
But both projects are not related, arent they?
Is it difficult to compile a linux version of unit3d? As far as I know, Unity 3d is now multiplatform:

I'm curious, could you tell me what are the difficulties a dev encounter to port his game from Unity 3D to linux?

the VB scripting part is tied to windows as well.
Not a problem as we script in C#
.
No, the real problem is time. Time doing it but also time maintaining.
Moreover, yes, UP and VPM are related for non original tables...
And Linux users are still a far smaller community than window's one.
My guess is that the next port should not be linux, but web player: thus, no compatibility issues... in theory!
