I managed to succeed is projecting my Pinball FX2 DMD to my 3rd monitor using this handy tool http://www.actualtoo...ktop_mirroring/

Its a lite program that doesn't weigh down my system at all! I'm not very good at scripting but it shouldn't be to hard to to get it to start with pinballfx2 and shut down as well.

I had to have my screen rotated with ctl alt left and changed the resolution on my dmd screen this can also be scripted quite easily also i set the dmd size to small on play field. I hope someone with a bit more intelligence (thank god for spell check) and the time can put this to good use and I'm happy if I have finally contributed in some way to this awesome community!!

Rock on!!!

Nice work .. I am in the same boat when it comes to scripting so will have to wait till someone else can chime in.

Great idea!

I don't like the idea to spend $25 on a program that I hopefully won't need very long, so I was looking for an alternative.

And I think I found one.

The Windows Magnifier. It can be set to 100% and it can run on the 3rd screen. I think all it needs is some careful fitting, some luck and an autohotkey command to place the mouse pointer at the right position.

Maybe I can find a position that works on my configuration.

About scripting: I might get it to work on my cab, but since configurations, positions, aspect ratio and resolutions differ a lot for the 3rd monitor scripting it for anybody else might be impossible.

Edit: Dang. Looked good at first but seems like Magnifier won't work. Pinball FX2 captures the mouse pointer and keeps it at the center of the playfield :(

Very interesting. Might be a solution for duplicating VPinMAME windows for this sort of application:

Hmm might be worth 25 if we can get it to work.. only problem I see is rotating the display for the 3rd screen.. at the rate Zen is going it might be a few more years before we get a movable dmd..
If nothing else maybe I can make a better size/position for the p layfield screen. :)

Ah whatever.

I just bought the license. Perhaps I also get it to work with SlamIt so I have some lasting value.

It has a 24% discount at the moment on the order page.

Haven't had alot of time to play around with it yet but one promising feature is being able to have multiple profiles so it could be set up for pinball arcade or individual tables.

Also you have full control of your screens as well with option for individual wall papers on each display. I use pinballx so it wont be to hard to script any screen changes with the launch before option. So much to do so why am I on here typing right now you ask? (my wife is home and my cab is in the lounge room that's why). I still have to get Pinball FX2 to launch in pinballx first. I have a non steam version so im trying just to get the ahk.exe i made to launch but it seems to return to the wheel selection screen after launching then when I exit pinballx fbfx2 is minimised and has frozen? Ill have to do some reading I think!

I see that flag under your avatar! Couldn't you put your eye patch back on for just a few minutes?

OK so Ive created 2 monitor profiles one with my standard: play field - 1920x1080 32bit 0 rotation, back glass 1024 x 768 32bit and DMD 640 x 480 8 bit for VP and FP with a hot key of Ctl + Alt + 1 and another profile: play field - 1920x1080 32bit 90 rotation, back glass 1024 x 768 32bit and DMD 1280 x 1024 32 bit for PBFX2 with a hot key of Ctl + Alt + 2.

Next I placed the mirror window on my DMD display whilst in PBFX2 display mode and created a hot key of Ctl + Alt + 3 to enable and disable it. The mirror window gets lost if you switch between the 2 profiles due to the resolution change on the DMD monitor so it has to be enabled and disabled whilst in PBFX2 screen mode.

So I made a basic script that loads the PBFX2 profile, DMD mirror window, Xpadder profile, PBFX Loader, sends mouse to press launch button and it works but that's as far as my scripting talents go! So what I relay need is a run wait process that will on exit close the DMD mirror, switch back to standard profile then load my standard xpadder profile. That's just my setup who knows about individual table setups?

Another thing Im not sure about is if the DMD mirror window stays set after a restart of the PC. I will do some more testing Is anyone else have any progress to report?

Edit: I think I can save the mirror window to my PBFX2 profile by clicking on an icon at the top of the window but I had to go to work so I haven't tested it yet

There are a couple of other possibilities discussed at this link. I can't try them until later.

Some magnifier alternatives too:

Being able to profile your settings and create custom hot keys Makes Actual tools the best option for me so far. The only problem Ive come across is having to re position the mirror window again after re starting the pc I'm sure there's a way to save it but I haven't been able to find it as of yet. Ive emailed customer support and I await there response.

This is actually possible with Windows Magnifier if you get it in the right place (trial and error) and then remove the "Follow" options with the keyboard (Alt+Tab, Tab, Space). However, the update is slow and it slows the game down. It was fun to achieve it though. I suppose it might be viable with better CPU and graphics hardware.
