Did anyone else manage to attend this event last weekend? There was a great selection on pins, slightyl better than the pinball party IMO. Only downside is the people not so familiar with games starting a 4 player then wandering off mid game after their 10th ball.

The highlight for me was Poibug's Haunted House that has been modified with speech and 3 ball multiball, the mod was prepared by a guy callled Pascal (and friends). This HH is only one of two in the world. Seemed a very natural mod that finished off the table nicely.

I was there, both days (I only live 20 mins away).
I took 3 machines down (2 that were mine & 1 that was on loan) & came back with four (been loaned another machine )
Took - STTNG & Cyclone that were mine, and NGG that had been loaned.
Came back with my machines and CFTBL & Party Zone - I feel so privileged to have friends that are willing to lend me their games.

If you saw a guy that wasn't in a crew shirt with his head in a machine fixing it...then that would've been me. I was also refereeing the NBA comp on the Saturday afternoon (I was the long haired ref).
Think I may as well be an official part of the "crew" for next year - seeing as I was basically there all weekend, and fixed more machines than I played on the Saturday.

As for the attendees - true, most weren't pinheads - I kept resetting games that had been left with 4 player games running...but the pinball at this event for the last 3 years now is having a huge impact on getting people into pinball - the local league has seen a marked increase in numbers directly from people going to these shows. Plus the buzz you get from showing kids that are sharing flippers how to play a 2-player game, and then seeing them 10 mins later being really competitive with each other on games is cool

Also, for next year the organisers were talking about increasing the number of pins to over 100 - already can't wait

Hello Dan, I must have talked to you at some point... I was sat at the NLP desk folding wads of raffle tickets on Saturday morning. Totally agree at the show improving the profile of pinball, that can only be a good thing for the hobby!

Didn't realise that was your NGG, if it was on loan does that mean are you looking to move it on at all?

Am going to try and make some Northern meets this year but they are all a good drive from me, also got to think of the family.

It wasn't my NGG - it was Darren's - I was looking after it for him...lucky, or unlucky for him depending on how you look at it, he has more machines than he has room.

As regards the league - yes if you're in North Yorkshire, chances are most are a fair bit from you, usually well worth the trek though.
