Hi everybody,

My problem is , Ithink, with my roms because when I start some pinball like indianapolis 500 , Dirty Harry, Baywatch, Dr Who, etc .... I have a window who says "Machine Initialized , please check the path or rom files", but I have all roms files downloaded !
This is strange because The addam's family , Indiana jones , Star Wars , Twilight zone, Creature from the black lagoon ........ I have no problem with them !
So I have downloaded on vp forum the roms but they are the same I have got in my computer ! I use vp 9 and 8 and the problem is same with twice !

Please help me otvwimper.gif

( I m sorry for my english but I am french , thanks for your comprehension ) smile.gif

Open VPinMAME>setup.exe>Setup Paths and check the ROM path. It is problem pointed to the wrong folder. Double check all the paths.

Yes.

Are you running it as Admin?

Right click VP.exe, select properties>compatibility and "run as admin"

You may also need to set the compatibility for XP SP2.

Must have...

Here's what I did to set up VP on my Vista system just recently...

Download and install VP 8.1 FULL INSTALL. This will put it in C:Program Files (x86).

Download VPinMAME 2.1 and unzip it DIRECTLY INTO your Visual Pinball folder.

Run VPinMAME setup, the default folder locations should be correct.

Right Click VPinball.exe and set run as admin and compatibility for XP SP2.

Download a table and ROM from here and check to see if it's working.

Sorry to ask, but are your roms still packed as zips or did you unpack them? They should remain packed, in order to work.

You will get this if you are not logged in as administrator. Forget right clicking running "as administrator" etc that gives mixed results. Log out (or switch users and login using an administrator account only) and the message will go away.

I can replicate this same problem when I'm editing a single table because I edit, run, edit, run, edit , run etc for about 20 times in a row without shutting vp down in between. Eventually every run after about 20 successive tries will give me the same error that you have. The table still comes up but pinmame doesn't like to play any more and I get the same erro.

f I close out of VP and restart it then it's ok again for the next 20 goes....Tends to suggest there is some sort of memory leak or memory mis-management in vp/Pinmame... Given that you get it straight away may mean that right from the start you don't have enough resources/memory for some reason for those tables. Just a hunch but as pointed out I can easily replicate the same issue with repeated successive plays without closing vp in between....I'm sure others can to if they do the same.

I got a new laptop, a bit out dated but it does the job.(See the specs)
The problem is Vista, sloooooooow..... thmbdn.gif thmbdn.gif
I had the same type of problems as described above think.gif hmm.gif ,did a quick search & came here:
run as admin and compatibility for XP SP2, solved everything for VP9(i was not able to play the tables with hardware renderering checked in the editor)! tup.gif

Compatibility for XP SP2 was the solution for VP8!

All my tables,VP8 & VP9 with hardware rendering, playing fine! cool.gif dblthumb.gif

Once again, thank to all developers, table authors, staff & collaborating members to make it possible. otvclap.gif otvclap.gif
