I had to reinstall ePSXe recently after losing the emu files a while back and had to reacquire. I had the settings and the right plugins where the games were looking even better than when played on the PSX, plus the cut scenes were a lot smoother and clearer (due to a shader plugin I bet), but I can't remember what I needed and what settings I setup. My computer can handle the highest settings so there shouldn't be any problems. Just need some help to get back to where I was with ePSXe.

Thanks in advance! biggrin.gif

Just download the newest plugins & tinker with it, i think a new cd/iso plugin is out now, works with epsxe, pcsx, & psx emulator. Haven't checked it out yet, need to set this up again on my new computer now that i can crank the graphics up....

I HAVE the newest version of the program and the newest Pete's and Eternal's plugins. There was a special way to make the games look even better than what they looked like in the PSX. THAT'S what I am asking about.

After a lot of searching and forums browsing, I FINALLY got the settings the way they looked before. If anyone is interested, I can give you the settings that I used. Keep in mind that I have a pretty high end computer and that the settings may not work on lower-end systems. biggrin.gif

EPSXE using Pete's OpenGL 2.9 video plugin, Also make sure you have a folder created called shader:

Fullscreen 1920 X 1080

Internal X resolution: 2: Very High
Internal Y resolution: 3: Ultra high
Stretching mode: 0: Stretch to window size
Render mode: 1: Render to pbuffer, copy to texture

Textures:

Texture filtering: 3: Standard w/o sprites
Hi-Res textures: Stretched (filtering needed)
Gfx card vram: 512 (NVidia GTX 275)

Un-checkmark Use pixel shader for 'PSX texture window' emulation

Framerate:

Checkmark 'Use FPS Limit'
Select 'Auto-detect FPS/Frame skipping limit'

Compatibility:

Off-Screen drawing: 2: Extended
Framebuffer effects: 3: Full- Emulates everything
Framebuffer upload: 2: Full- Uploads full vram area

Full screen filters:

Checkmark: Screen filtering and Shader effects
Select: 5: GLSlang files (gpuPeteOGL2 slv/slf) (Use Shadx's natural shader plugin (you have to Scroogle it, most links will have you sign into a forum to download it, download it and unzip into your shader folder)

Shader level: 4 maximum

Misc:

Checkmark MDEC filter, disable screensaver, and special game fixes 0x0001

I'll see if I can get one using the Print Screen function. I may still try to tweak things a bit, I am not 100% satisfied with current settings but a lot better than beforehand.biggrin.gif

Here's a screenshot:

I think I have done the best I can do using ePSXe emulator to tweak the video settings. Been experimenting with other shaders and none of them seem to do as well as Shadx's Natural Vision shader. So the settings I have listed seem to be the best I can do to get the best video possible (I still swear that I had the cut scenes looking sharper in the past than what I have got now but not complaining biggrin.gif ).

That looks really impressive. I use pcsx reloaded for alot of my games, but use epsxe & psx emulator as well.
