vp has this table, but never scored correct.
i do hope someone can do a vpm-9, if the
rom is there, or a redo of the old into vp-9.

there are many tables at irpinball, that need
a redo into vp-9, maybe someday they will.

It's an Electro Mechanical machine, not a solid state so there is no rom necessary for this one.

If a VP version wasn't scoring correctly then you'd need to check the script.

Sorry, but this is an EM table. There is no rom for this one.

I would love to see this converted to VP9 as well.

Just found something out about this table that I never knew before. According to the IPDB, during this table's prodcution run Williams used a steel cabinet instead of a wooden one. Seems that Williams execs were worried that once the machines went to solid state technology they would be easier to steal with the lighter wood cabinet. However, since the steel cabinet became cost prohibitive the idea was dropped.

I don't know how many steel cabinet versions of this table were released, if any. Maybe Dedrok's friend has one with the steel cabinet.

This machine has piqued my curiosity for a long time now, but I've never been able to figure out what the supposed 'yellow values' and 'green values' relate to. There's nothing on the playfield that actually explains them, how the Extra Ball is lit, nor what R-A-N-C-H-O does when completed (advanced, I assume, by completing the drop targets). Could we also get a detailed explanation of the game rules, if you can?

Just ask...

Top center rollover lane alternates to light either green lights or yellow lights, and score 1,000 points, except when both green and yellow lights are lit and bonus is at top, and then the lane scores 10,000.
Right shooter scores 1,000 and one advance bonus, plus 1,000 and one advance when yellow is lit, plus 1,000 and one advance when green is lit.
Top left eject scores 3,000 or 30,000 when green is lit if feauture adjustment is conservative. If feature adjustment is set at liberal, top left eject scores 5,000 or 50,000 when green is lit.
Bottom left eject scores 3,000 or 30,000 when yellow is lit.
Left, center, and right drop targets light "R", "A" and "N" respectively and then reset when all are down to light "C", "H" and "O" respectively when made a second time.
"RAN", when lit, lights bottom left eject for extra ball and alternates bottom rollovers for special.
"RANCHO", when lit, lights bottom left eject for extra ball and alternates bottom rollovers for special.
Jet bumpers score either 1,000 or 100 (adjustable). It is recommanded that they score 1,000 for 3 ball play and 100 for 5 ball play.
Center rollover button scores 1,000 and advance bonus when lit. If feature adjustment is set for conservative, the light alternates. If feature adjustment is set for liberal, the light is on continuously.

Nice! Yeah just a split second glance at this game & you can tell its your typical Williams mid 70's EM machine. Not really my kind of theme, but decent art for an EM. Not a bad layout either, it has enough shots to keep me interested.

The dark wood circles around the bumpers look interesting. Is that art? Or is that real exposed wood?

Anyhow, I know this isn't a rom table, but hopefully somebody does it up nice for VP with those pics.
THANKS Dedrok!
We need guys like you, who have access to pins, to take advantage of being so lucky & get pics! & you take some nice pics too, not even a need for plastic scans IMHO.
You nailed that overhead PF shot & backglass. No flash at all! They all look good.

Anything special you do when taking pics? What camera do you use? Got any advice on settings, flash, etc? I'm going to a place with hundreds of pins in a week or so, & I was gonna play around with my 14mp Canon on my own pins to try to find the most optimal settings. I take pics every year, & every year there is something I don't like about the settings I used.

My canon has this feature that I tried once & worked pretty well that I might stick with. Its a feature that doesn't use flash, but instead of getting a blurry pic without a tripod, I set the camera to go off like 2 or 3 seconds after I hit the button to let me get into position. Then I think this feature takes like a ton of pics really fast, then automatically chooses the best one. I might play around with that more, but I also know the ISO setting is important to get right, among others. So I'll mess around with those as well. There are a decent amount of presets that came with the camera, & while some are OK none of them are that great for pinball.

@Grizz, that was fast. Nicely done. smile.gif

@Rob

I mainly just point and click. With the back glass I go about 5m away and (optical) zoom in. That way less reflections.

Using a Canon sure shot 10 mp. Haven't changed any settings since I got it.

Will probably take better Cosmic Princess playfield shots once I finish the clearcoating. The camera I borrowed to do that was dodgy.

Its hard to get the lighting right, but the camera chooses when to flash or not and sometimes it doesn't turn out that good so I take more with it closed.

The main thing is holding the button in to get a good focus, sometimes it comes up with four or five focus squares.
I dont have that feature for mine that yours has got, but I dont use a tripod either.
Like a sniper, slow breaths, and shoot after exhale.
