Hey guys, I just threw together this little program for aligning/scaling your DMDs in HyperPin.

In order for it to work you need the VPinmame.dll for cabinets installed - get it HERE

Here's a tutorial vid I made - please escuse the blurry vid but it gets the idea across... blush.gif
Youtube Link

Finally, you can get it here:
DMDAlign

Let me know what you think - it's saved me a HEAP of time setting up new tables - I just used it to install 39 new tables on my pin tup.gif

Well there you go... I didn't even know SetDMD existed facepalm.gif

Did you watch the Youtube vid? Can you adjust width and height with the keyboard while playing the table from Hyperpin in SetDMD?

Nope, it won't rotate the DMD - you have to do it in the script first.

Nice work!

I've been looking for something that would let me adjust the DMD a pixel at a time to get rid of the funky interference pattern you get when the scaled DMD isn't a perfect multiple of the stock size. I was looking at doing it via the registry, but this looks way easier.

I'll be trying this out tonight.

Thanks for sharing!

Great Tool, watched the vid.!

What happened to 'click on DMD', 'right click on DMD', drag DMD into the right position? wink.gif

Cheers,
FD.

Yep great tool indeed! This came in handy when the backglass was only present in Hyperpin. Saved me a lot of guessing work or moving it then exit VP and back into HP to see if the DMD was lined up. How ever this is not needed for those who are modding a spanned game to full screen with backglass.
Dazz... Maybe not possible for the DMD is a fixed position according to the script. So manual labor is still involved like tinkering with the values such as the "rol" from 1 to 0 or vise versa like when I converted this spanned Guns N Roses to full screen.

That's fine when you can see the cursor - this is designed to work inside Hyperpin when the cursor is invisible - not as easy to do.
Especially the scaling bit wink.gif

Correct! As this doesn't modify the script it's not possible to rotate or flip the DMD, sorry.

That would be nice though

You can press "t" to show the mouse pointer, but it's still a pain in the ass to get things absolutely perfectly lined up properly with the mouse - and forget about trying to scale the DMD so it doesn't have interference patterns in it...that's nearly impossible with the mouse.

This tool makes things infinitely easier for me.

Hello,

I have made much use of this program (thanks Terry). Is this alignment tool still considered the one to use or has it been supplanted with something better?
...also, the reason i tracked down this post- does anyone know of a way to suppress the splash screen?

Thanks,
Matt
